Krishna, Balbhadra and Subhadra were having a very hot summer day in Bhuvaneshwar. They finally went for a bath in the ocean / river nearby and when they came back, they got sick. They were very sick. A few weeks later, they went for dinner at a nearby cottage and that procession from the temple to the cottage took 9 days. First Subhadra went in a chariot with 12 wheels, then Balbhadra in the chariot with 14 wheels and finally Krishna in the chariot with 16 wheels. The chariots have very specific dimensions.
After they ate at the cottage, they finally got better
I write this story to share. Of course you can look up other stories, and massive description of the Ratha built with precision to exact dimensions
It is such a big occasion – 9 days of yatra/ journey.
It truly is. If done properly forever you are with God
Few can understand it and rarely one in a billion can do it correctly

Thinking is the ultimate failure. The train of thoughts and emotions. Nonstop. And we think we are smart with the logic
In stead of thinking remaining silent brings about inspired visions which hello the universe. Not human logic
My blogs are never thought of. So forgive me for not thinking through. I just publish

I am smart
I am stupid
Both are thoughts
You foolishly bought
A bird in a cage
No way to escape
I am bound
I am free
Both are thoughts
You foolishly bought
A bird in a cage
No way you escape
Bookish knowledge oh Veda reader
Can’t stop your thoughts
These are thoughts
You foolishly bought
A bird in a cage
No way to escape
Sit in mediation and Focus within
Your mind still runs
No way to stop
Your foolish thoughts
Sad is the plight
The bird in cage
No way to escape
Pull your thoughts
Awareness of self
Rays of light
Abound within
She is divine
Harnessing your prana
Abolishing thoughts
Keeping you within
Tiger she rides
In and out she is all around
A short poem. If only you could stop your thoughts and even stop the thought that thoughts are stopped – then you will know the truth. Reading books , information etc is a tragic burden. Once you have awakening, you have a Guru , then focus on stopping thoughts!
The last two paragraphs – if you look at the first letters – Para Shakti That is the only way out
A Guru greatness lies in awakening of that shakti. She is the only way
So we don’t stop with the tiny steps we make in progress
A little understanding, clarity in goal did not really help make a full leap forward
RamKrishna paramhansa used to say, 24 hours of not stop genuine prayer to god and he will respond
Do we have that?
The mind is elusive. It is not easy to transform it into an instrument of peace and love
Constantly the mind revolts against things that are unpleasant and constantly looks forward to things that are good. This preferential attitude is one of the Cardinal inimical covering of the mind. How do you tell the mind it is ok to not have money? Or to have bad health? Or ok for someone to hate you? Sue you?
How do you get rid of the instant fear in those situations?
What do you do when these things happen? You ask people for guidance. You pray. You do mantra. You will even turn to those who you did not like. You cry. Your mind has no solace until it hears a soothesayer – someone who says it will be ok. You want to believe that person. Why because that is the only thing that will comfort your mind
Do you see how difficult the mind is?
How do you change the intrinsic nature of mind? Hearing theory of karma might give justification but still the mind won’t like it
You can turn to a guru or saint or God. Nothing changes the mind
What do you do?
Part two to follow
An angel, her pen and a crumpled paper
She played her flute
The world danced to her tune.
Living in a 7 floor mansion
The world on floor first
Her laugh echoed at 6.
Her name was destiny
My name on the crumpled paper.
The 3 colored pen – a work of the past
For time eon
Tirelessly she wrote.
Trapped on floor one
Lost in the mansion
A guide led me
His wisdom uncanny
Straight was the elevator
Floor ami on 6
Destiny in the center
Triangle the lay.
I burnt the paper
Lost the pen
We both laughed
No longer lost
Bhavin died
We laughed together
No pen, no paper
Now Destiny a friend architect
The deeds to the mansion
returned to the owner
Maharajji often foiled our attempts at meditation. Many times when we’d be sitting there, someone would start meditating and Maharajji would send over his two “meditation spoilers”. One was his driver and the other a little boy who was the driver’s friend. He would send them over to shake people out of meditation. One time we were all sitting there and he said, “Okay, meditate”, and after about a minute he started telling jokes and making everyone stop. Another time Maharajji called us into his office and told us to start singing. We started singing but no one was really into it so after a while it died down and then he yelled from the other room, “Keep singing.” We picked it up again and it died down again and he yelled, “Keep singing.” And finally after about three hours the singing caught on and got really great. When it ended everyone just naturally fell into meditation and as soon as that happened we heard from the other room, “Take dinner”, and we were all ushered into the other room. We were never able to cling to that meditation space.
Excerpts from “Miracle of Love” Chapter “About Meditation and Service” written by Shri Ram Dass.
The miracles of Babaji! What can I say?
But Babaji never taught anyone how to meditate. He helped everyone. Told them to do Ram name recitation
Such great people – they never make a mistake
Most of our faults are hidden. They only come out at right time
Fear. We may think we are not afraid but the moment we see a cop our foot is off the accelerator!
We may feel we have no desire for food. But if your hungry and see your favorite food the appetite comes out like a tiger
same with sex. It takes years and births to get rid of anger, resentment and depression when desires are not fulfilled.
These are normal trends present in all. Slowly and patiently, One must conquer desire – some by fulfilling, others by logic and rest by meditation. Usually a combination is needed.
It is easier to conquer desires with a yogi. They have more control and their guidance and spiritual powers rubs off. Plus they have secret techniques
The world may see them as success. They may think there is success
To a degree there is success – the long awaited features are finally fulfilled – after much power and good deeds accumulated
Yet they have the same anguish and pain in life as an ordinary person – the pain of jealousy, insecurity anger, fear of health aging, death, humiliation when reputation is lost, emotions of vengeance
So in the long run they are stagnant in the cosmic picture
The same is with all the famous guru of the present time.
All have thoughts and they want the world to believe in their thoughts. Even when totally wrong ! Amazing!
Success in thoughts does not mean your right! The roman catholic pope imprisoned Copernicus for saying the earth rotates around the sun ! The pope won but yet they were wrong !
I don’t see stars or performers. I see their pain. Their emotional anguish. Their joy. Their arrogance
Don’t be a star or a guru. Win your weakness
Be victorious in yourself. Not the world.
My only interest in people is to help them. And as long as breath shall flow in this lungs, so long shall I try to help others and tell them to get away from this motion picture of delusion. Because you are a part of it now, you suffer. You must stand aside and watch it, and then you cannot suffer. When you are an observer, then you can enjoy this play. This is what you must learn. To God, this is only a movie, and you turn to Him,it will also be a picture show to you.
Sri Sri Paramahansa Yogananda.
The Divine Romance. P.116
Sankhya shastra describes the divine attitude. Sankhya was created by Kapil Muni. Many people believe Kapil muni is an incarnation of shesh nag.
Who is shesh nag?
There is an ocean of milk. (Kshir sagar) In the ocean of milk, Vishnu bhagwan lies in it, sleeping on a bed made by Shesh Nag coiling up. And from this umbilicus, Brahma is created in a lotus flower. And Brahma then created the universe
Now this is of course an allegory of an experience in meditation. The ocean of milk refers to chandra chakra. I have written about it in great detail elsewhere. But the description is perfect!
So although Yogananda described this with great ease, our constant problem is we identify by force of habit with our mind and emotions. We cannot be a witness. Thats why I am amused by the foolishness of so many wonderful Gurus, they preach witness attitude, talk and write volumes, but dont tell anyone how to disassociate from the mind and emotions
And yet people will follow them by the thousands! Oh what a play and drama you have created Divine mother!
