Today is the 8th day of the ascending moon of the month Shraavan
It is the birthday of lord Krishna. He sang the Bhagwad Gita – the Holy book in Hinduism
Lord Krishna chose to be born in “Jail” where his parents were imprisoned
Lord Krishna manages to escape – the guards fell asleep at his birth and his father Vasudev carried him away from jail. There was a tremendous flood and rain at that time. When the feet of Krishna touched the river Yamuna the river split into two and he was safely carried by vasudev from Mathura to Gokul
There he performed many miracles and at the age of 63 gave divine guidance to Arjun on the battlefield of Kurikshetra
