The soul stays in any one of the three states
Jagrat -Awake
Swapna -Sleeping with dreams
Sushupti -Dreamless deep slumber
In these three states you are not aware of yourself
The fourth is Turiya. In that state you are only aware of your divine self
The other three are an illusion.
What is it like? Aah. Since you ask you have not reached there
Those who have it simply know it
