Shankaracharya, his disciples, Ramana maharshi, Kabir, Christian saints like saint francis, mother Theresa lived very simple lives
They served and helped others. Were they happy ?
Some of them had no roof, no money. Like Vivekananda. Or swami rams They moved from place to place.
So if we try to live life like that will we be happy ? Or miserable ?
Honestly they were very happy. They did not have twitter, Facebook, word press blogs, texting, microphones, Tv. It was unsure if anyone would even listen to them. Yet they were happy
Contrast this to the modern day fake saints who only want a larger audience, people to worship them , often literally worship them and say they don’t want money but yet charge anyone who wants to attend their sessions including meditation sessions and retreats
Most of the readers cannot fathom why ramana maharshi or vivekananda would be happy being penniless or not even having a single person to talk with
Can you live an existence like it? Was something wrong with them that they found joy in that existence?
If you cannot understand why they were joyous in that way of living – then one thing is certain , you have not learnt to meditate and most certainly you have ZERO ZERO experience in knowledge of self
Once you get there, in that supreme state of meditation, the outlook changes. This is my opinion.
Like vivekananda said Our mind is hypnotized by Maya and we must get it de hypnotized from its clutches to obtain true happiness
Sadly I do not see anyone of that caliber out there! The media, publicity hungry, money chaser , pretentious gurus are out there – helping everyone by relieving the pressure in your wallet. How can such people give you the truth
So if you want happiness, if you want to truly truly get rid of the burden of your attachment to material things in life, then spirituality is your calling
For most people they don’t want spirituality but just want their life to be easy, comfortable and have desires fulfilled. Why why why should a guru appear before you and help in deep meditation when you want , for the most part, material gains
My words are intended to make material minded men run away. They won’t like me anyway they won’t understand me.
This is why the world does not see a guru even when or if he or she exists.
