Happiness depends to some extent upon external conditions, but chiefly upon mental attitudes. In order to be happy one should have good health, a well-balanced mind, a prosperous life, the right work, a thankful heart, and above all, wisdom or knowledge of God.

My suggestions of books are : muktashastra, yogamruta, mahayoga vigyana by Yogendra Vigyani, Saundarya Lahiri by Vishnutirthji, sadhan shikhar by Shivhum tirthji, complete works of Vivekananda, Gyaneshwari Gita, God talks with Arjuna by Yogananda, holy science by Yukteshwar, other books by Yogananda, integral yoga by Aurobindo. I include the works of shankaracharya as scriptures. These books have to bed read 4-5 times
Good health : healthy food and good karma. No meat for sure. Good BMI. exercise. No intoxicating drinks
