God is the doer ??

FEBRUARY 23 – SRF DAIRY – HUMILITY

Humility comes from realizing that God is the

Doer, not you. When you see that, how can you be

proud of any accomplishment? Think constantly that

whatever work you are performing is being done by

the Lord through you.—Paramahansa Yogananda,

“ Self Realization Magazine “

So it is quite convenient to say God is the doer or God is acting through me. So now all the sins belong to God. That means I can walk with the notion God is the doer and do what I like ??

The answer is as long as you have ego or a sense of Identity with the body, you are the doer. Don’t try to hide behind the notion God is the doer

Yogananda himself never was the doer. But he always did everything only with the permission of God

There is this example where Yogananda had a huge stone fall in his foot while he was building the wishing well. It was shattered. His disciples said let’s go to doctor. He asked mother. She said no. A few days later it got worse. But mother told him not to go.
Then he had to give a talk and could barely walk
Mother Appeared and told him to walk on the shattered foot! He did – his first step and he had excruciating pain and next step – his foot was back to normal

So these are the requirements

  1. Constantly in touch with God. Any and every second
  2. Faith she will guide you perfectly. Not a second of hesitation
  3. Not having any personal desire

And if you meet all there you can boldly say God is the doer !

Alas us mortals have to suffer the consequences of all our actions. Unless – we slowly learn to walk in the footsteps of great saints and relinquish our ego
