Yoga and its goal

Yog, (not really yoga) means to join or be anchored . The goal of every person is to join or remain anchored in one self. That supreme being can be called God, Atman or Pure consciousness.

But why? When we are not anchored in the self, the question is why? After all, your asked to give up all the pleasures of life, duality – which includes not talking or having social interaction with anyone, including talking, not having trees or oceans or beautiful nature, and just remain merged in “nothingness”.

Seems awful does it not?

Truth is – it is wonderful. It is truly being alive. Shankaracharya called it Chidananda. And that is the goal of Yog

In what way is it wonderful – you enjoy all of creation from within. Without being affected. There is supreme joy. It cannot be described. Thus it is a perfect game – enjoying all without being bound or attached.
