How to thrive

This is true for life too

Be flexible. Be versatile

How does this apply in modern day work?

Let’s say you work for a big organization. You were hired to start work at 8:30.

Now a month later you are told to come at 8

Now 8 am does not work for you because you have to wait for kids to get on school bus
A few options now

1). Show your very “smart”. Come up with a strong argument and prove your need. Maybe even lie
2). Get angry. Show your the boss. You quit job. Go for unemployment.
There are any number of solutions

The boss can do the exact same this as above. Be a bully or fire you or force the timing by calling HR

But think about this solution

You call your parents and ask can you see my kids off. Or the boss says tell you what if you can come in early two days or change timings

The point is those who are flexible instead of getting angry tend to do better. Less internal frustration

Three things to do all at same time. You have to postpone your movie. Or date. Or dinner. Do you get angry or laugh and say oh well. Not the worst thing in my life. ( But getting angry could be the worst thing in your life)

So learning to adapt to life is a great quality. It is not genetic. The more the ego, less the flexibility.

Anyway. You can’t go through life without being forced to adapt. One way or the other.
