The aim of life – be happy

True joy is being with God

Why can we not go to God?

Our emotions and constant mental activity Makes it impossible

It is not possible to subdue it without sustained prolonged effort

This is where diet comes into play

Take alcohol for example. Drinking make the mind and emotions more incoherent. People may take a drink or two to relax. But that relaxation is not real. It is just emotional unwinding and counter productive to yoga

Same thing with meat and fish. Here the effect is not immediate. But once the body cells receive energy from meat, it gets and thinks with more animal passion. This makes meditation more difficult

Even without all this some people are convinced that there is a contribution to global warming from meat. Meat also causes higher chance of all cancers

All yourself this question – what do you want? Joy of Meditation or succumb to the increasing fetters of the body in the form of wine food and sex?

You cannot be a yogi or do true yoga if you drink alcohol, drugs, meat
