Gone -2

So the last poem was about “death”.

When you read it, you know I talked about death. And your happy

But why did I call the man blind?

I called him blind because he had no direct experience of what happens when the body functions ceases. How did the soul depsrt the body, what happened to it, where did the soul go.

Yes you can Google it. Or go and ask someone. Or they will open the religious book of choice and feel convinced based on it that they know the truth. And then feel important and feel wise. I consider these people blind.

Then some don’t believe in the soul. Great. Less headaches and debate. I consider them blind too. They never made an effort to discern the truth

Now. Here is a subtle secret. Why do the people who believe in the soul act so adamantly? It is because they have past experience. With the grace of God that memory has been erased. No matter what the fine imprints of the past, sometimes gives us an inner conviction.

This brings us to the next part of the poem. Those who are not blind.

Gone

All is lost a blind man cries

I can’t touch see or talk

Many thoughts left unspoken

Sobs and cries from man and friends

They talked of soul And journey to God

So great so wonderful, applaud all around

So this is the norm for the blind on ground

Good parenting?

When my kids were going – there was a popular book on his parenting- by Dr Spock

I am sure there are a dozen more books now. Plus the famous social services, the government who knows it all, has legislation to guide the less intelligent people in this matter

However every 10 years they realize a flaw in previous methods and make changes

Sorry I was being sarcastic a little. However, the one characteristic which yogi know – and does not change from one person to another is the quote by Ramana Maharshi!

You can choose what you want to teach your kids – how fun life is, money is the most important thing, fairy tales about happily ever after, watch TV, play video games

Or

Tell them only one or twice there is more to life. It’s purpose.

There are choices. What is your pick? One teaches then to be successful, other instills values!

Big words

We use big words. And good orators can impress a million. With beautiful interpretations

God is so loving

He is omnipresent

He is omnipotent

He can do anything. He is present everywhere. Of course it impresses us. And it should. And create awe and love

But.😔 but……😔

There was a simple tailor. In India. 300 years ago. He decided to go to Mecca / Medina to do Haaj. His name was kabir.

Now in the mosque in Mecca there is a kaba/stone which represents God. This simple guy Kabir went there and did the unthinkable. He lay down with his feet facing the shrine. By all counts this is blasphemy. Of the worst kind The caretaker of the Masjid was displeased. Angry. Educated poor kabir.

Kabir simple said – God is everywhere. Tell you what why don’t you move my feet in whatever direction you please.

The caretaker, took pleasure and in a not so gentle manner moved kabir feet in a different direction. Amazingly in whatever direction they moved his feet, the stone shrine moved in the same direction!

Needless to say such simple men are the greatest of great. They are people who can truly say God is everywhere.

While educated people like me struggle to find God in the inconsiderate car driver who cut me off!

This is also great but does not go well in most cultures

Why should I listen or obey you?

I am just as good as you

God has created us equal

With those statements and thoughts you will not be able to appreciate the great quote by Yogananda

Without God-realization you have little freedom. Your life is ruled by impulse, whims, moods, habits, and environment. By following the advice of a true guru, and by accepting his discipline, you will gradually emerge from sense slavery.

– Sri Sri Paramahansa Yogananda

A great Guru is so simple humble and pure he reflects God

My friend you are very far from that purity. If your honest you will realize your a slave to your senses

You still love music, sex and food. You can not see fun in keeping your eyes closed all day and love the world within.

A nice quote

This is from Yogananda

It is easy for me to plant the seed of love for the Divine in those who are in tune with me. Those who obey my wishes are in reality not obeying me but the Father in me. God doesn’t talk to man direct, but uses the channel of the guru and his teachings.

– Sri Sri Paramahansa Yogananda

This statement is true. But there is a deeper truth which he did not say openly due to the audience. They simply would not understand him

Who is really ready to understand advaita?

Once in a while…

One in a while I share extra ordinary stories of yogi doing things that are unbelievable.

It is just to remind the reader, yoga in its purest forms, is not the trivial, exercise and yogic postures, or chanting om

What you think and know about yoga is the westernized, incorrect version

True yoga has one goal. Realize your higher self as spirit and liberate yourself. When you liberate don’t think of liberation as a conceptual understanding but an experience based realization. If the world came from atman, and you experience yourself as atman, then it MUST COME WITH INHERENT POWERS OF VARYING DEGREES. DON’T BE A FOOL. AND SETTLE FOR ANYTHING ELSE

Vivekananda said

There are many powerful things Vivekananda said

Some of my favorites are

Happiness comes wearing the crown of sorrow

The following statement I have paraphrased

” it is a tremendous lesson to learn – not to desire ”

Vivekananda is a great Guru but people never understood him.

His Guru Ramkrishna impacted two major philosophical lines

  • Paramhansa Yogananda – when he lost his mother had a great spiritual experience – the ability to see through everything from Ramkrishna disciple. Moreover Ramkrishna disciple let Yogananda talk and see his deceased mother
  • Vivekananda stood by Aurobindo for a whole year when Aurobindo was in Jail. This happened 10 years after Vivekananda left his body

The mind

In the Gita it says you are your best friend and your own worst enemy

At different levels of spiritual progress it can mean many things

But at the most common level you can think of it as the mind

It can be your best friend if it is controlled. However when not controlled it is your worst enemy

When uncontrolled it leads to

  1. Constant fears
  2. Constant worries
  3. Constant negativity
  4. Constantly chasing pleasures
  5. Constantly a slave to the senses
  6. Constantly giving self importance
  7. Comparison and jealousy
  8. Wanting to be famous
  9. Dwelling on money
  10. the worst of all – inspite of knowing is faults – revolts every step of the way when denied its pleasures and any attempts at change and self control and endurance.

The mind simply only wants pleasure. If it is told to do something it does not like – it gets sad, revolts and goes through a series of temper tantrums

These are difficult stages. The mind needs a Guru and guidance every step of the way. Someone who has passed through the steps

Bruhadaranyaka upanishad part 3

So the first paragraph in the upanishad says it all.

The method, the experiences and it refers to ashwamegha yagna

However most readers canny grasp the subtle greatness of the paragraph. So they are given information in the form of a dialogic with Yagnavalkalya and Gargi and other great saints

But why go through painful dialogues when you can go straight to God?

Another one from Neem Karoli Baba

One day , in May 1958, Kehar Singh ji got another opportunity to have Baba’s darshan.

Baba said to him, “That night you were asking why God was punishing the boy for your sins. You should never say so. God does not do this. Man himself suffers because of his own Karma.”

-Divine Reality

However this statement means Babaji saw the past births and agrees with the suffering we sometimes endure

From Neem Karoli Baba

Maharajji asked an Indian girl four times, “Do you like sorrow or joy ?”

Each time the girl answered ,”I’ve never known joy, Maharajji, only sorrow.”

Finally, Maharajji said, “I love sorrow. It brings me closer to God.”

-Miracle of love

The luckiest person is he or she – who has no one. All his / her friends, money, relatives have turned their back to him / her. Even his or her so called spiritual friends criticize him / her this often lasts a few years

At that point the person can only turn to God / Guru

And then truly make progress. Not once will that persons mind ever trust this treacherous world or love it again

Now the doors will open within. Now the mind will only seek God. And hold on to God. He instantly rejects anything that would bring him back to the world. He no longer meditates wanting to brag or tell others about any spiritual things. He discovers the joys within. His former self is gone.

But it is painful. Initially. Can you wish this happen to you? This pain?

From Neem Karoli Baba

Baba gave credence to the concept of rebirth and often said, “In this world we meet only those with whom we have been associated in previous births and there is always an unknown but definite duration of this union after which we are separated again.”

– Divine Reality

Have trust in God and the most difficult tasks become easy. For success , hard work alone is not enough. God’s Grace is essential.”

Marketing words

If you want to market your products, knowing how weak the human mind is, start using certain words

Quantum – your mind automatically assumes it is very high tech. In reality it could be just a abacus

Other words are super, silky, Nova or any word related to space, atom, etc

Same scheme is used by the “spiritual people”. They use words like vedas, Chakra, yoga, vedanta, upanishad, and others will just say in the Bible, Gita

The reason is very few have read them, even hardly one has understood it. So it is a relatively easy job to con or convince others.

All I have to say in sanskrit – your mind will Make the connection – sanskrit to veda to a deeper meaning of yoga. It’s all jumbled up

Those who recite or use those words do not impress me. As a reader, do the simple task of slowing your mind. Stop being gullible. Analyze.

Then if your mind accepts it go ahead

Having said that, once you know the person is a Guru accept it all. Whatever he says. I found what my Guru told me was always correct. At times I waited 30 years to understand it. Even the things that seemed illogical. I just want not ready

What difference does it make

Is there a God

Is there no God

What difference does it make if you have not experienced your divine self?

This religion is great

This religion is foolish

What difference does it make if you have not experienced your divine self?

There is rebirth

There is no rebirth

What difference does it make if you have not experienced your divine self?

I love my work

I hate my work

What difference does it make if you have not experienced your divine self?

I have money

I have no money

What difference does it make if you have not experienced your divine self?

I know the vedas and upanishads

I don’t know the vedas and upanishads

What difference does it make if you have not experienced your divine self?

Utter stupidity

Recently the Indian news made headlines with claims of planes and stem cell research in India thousands of years ago

Utter stupidity and a sign of desperation. This is what I mean by not understanding anything in religion. Such foolish claims and the people making these claims disgrace India and Hinduism

First learn and follow. The path is for you. And you alone. Religion or spirituality is nothing more than milestones and guidelines in case there is doubt or your caught in a wrong web

Anjali Kumar – where she went wrong ( and every else)

So the previous blog is the TED talk by Anjali Kumar.

It was interesting. It was hilarious It was analytical. And loved by a lot

But like everyone else it was flawed. Like Morgan Freeman. Like rest of the world. Like the way people are raised.

The three things people seek are

Health

Happiness

Love

True. And some think money so give them all of it. Others think fame and respect and some seek it in pursuit of relations etcetera

The flaw is you can pursue those things in the world to eternity and never find it. The body will fail. Love will betray you. And happiness is fleeting. Billions have come and left. No one has succeeded

These things are present only within and in meditation. In God. That is a tremendous lesson to learn. That what you seek is true but spend more time finding it within

That is the essence of all religions. Misguided and lost. We seek it outside but not within

Now there is another corollary. This is personal. The achievement is personal. You go within that is joy for you. When you come out you can say. The saints were correct. If you go much much further then you can guide others.

This is where the conundrum is. The person who goes in has so much joy they find it difficult to go and help others. They tend to remain very hidden.

The word Chakra has become a cheap charlatans word to impress others. Just like the horn of the unicorn. Can heal everything

Children, none of the books – has accurately described a Chakra. Don’t fall for it.

Children, no one knows enough about awakening of the Shakti / kundalini. Don’t fall for it

Children, have the passion for God. Discover the truth. Don’t be misled by books.

My search for God – TED talks

Here is a short video about a person search for God!

https://www.ted.com/talks/anjali_kumar_my_failed_mission_to_find_god_and_what_i_found_instead/up-next?language=en

My comments will follow in a day or two

It is somewhat funny the above video

Should I text her?

A quote from Raman Maharshi

Ceaseless practice

But he did not describe the practice

The trick is to find the right practice where sense of doer ship / the sense of ego or I is not there

Do that and eventually it goes away

Life is a burden

Remember constantly, life has good days and bad days. The bad days can be numerous and life is then a burden with no escape. You may try to escape but karma and burden will follow.

For a few days of pleasure what a big price to pay Kabir sang

kabir-1.mp3

What it means is

Everyone prays ( remembers) during difficult times

Very few remember God during good times

If you remember God during Good times

How could bad times ever occur

So one must fervently think of God at all times

But when things are good – we tend to be arrogant, belittle others, lose compassion, forget God and are not thankful for the blessings we received. This accumulates negative karma from many. Which has to be endured

All I can say is please try to escape from the claws of Maya. Why suffer ?

Ashwamegha yagna or bruhadaranyaka upanishad prelude part 3

What is it?

There is an ancient Hindu king tradition – the ashwamegha yagna

A sovereign king would take a stallion and release it in the forrest. He would be followed by a group of royal members of the king and the horse roams freely. When it goes into the territory of the nearby kingdom the neighbor has to accept the sovereign king as a master or capture the horse and fight the king. The horse was allowed to roam for 6 or 12 months.

At the end of the year the horse guys back to the king. A big ceremony follows. The head of the horse is severed. The queen spends a night with the dead horse. The horses tendons are then cut and the ceremony is concluded

Bruhadaranyaka upanishad part 2

The first shloka – here it the translation I found online

# Verily the dawn is the head of the horse which is fit for sacrifice, the sun its eye, the wind its breath, the mouth the Vaisvanara fire, the year the body of the sacrificial horse. Heaven is the back, the sky the belly, the earth the chest, the quarters the two sides, the intermediate quarters the ribs, the members the seasons, the joints the months and half-months, the feet days and nights, the bones the stars, the flesh the clouds. The half-digested food is the sand, the rivers the bowels, the liver and the lungs the mountains, the hairs the herbs and trees. As the sun rises, it is the forepart, as it sets, the hindpart of the horse. When the horse shakes itself, then it lightens; when it kicks, it thunders; when it makes water, it rains; voice is its voice.

Is it easy to understand?

Brihadaranyaka Upanishad

I am writing this – dedicated to my close friend in California. He is a long time friend – since I could barely add 2 + 2. That was in middle school and so I decided to go to medical school, write blogs and dabble in quantum physics

Brihad – means vast.

There is another meaning bruh meaning spoken (?)

Aranya -forrest.

Ka was added for a very subtle tantra reason

The vast forrest is the universe or the body or the story of a soul lost in the journey to God

This Upanishads is not meant for everyone. It can only be really understood by a advanced yogi

The word forrest is used for many reasons. Life is a place – quite treacherous with wild beasts ready to devour you and smaller beasts eating you slowly ( worries ) it is easy to be lost in this forrest it is easy to be lost in the wide universe.

For a yogi it has a deeper meaning with the trees representing the nervous and arterial system. One has to be a master at the body before you can go east. The body is both physical and subtle

The initial shloka is:

 पूर्णमदः पूर्णमिदं पूर्णात्पुर्णमुदच्यते
पूर्णस्य
 पूर्णमादाय पूर्णमेवावशिष्यते
 शान्तिः शान्तिः शान्तिः

The first paragraph is

aum! uṣā vā aśvasya medhyasya śiraḥ, sῡryas cakṣuḥ, vātaḥ prāṇaḥ, vyāttam agnir vaisvānaraḥ; saṁvatsara ātmāśvasya medhyasya, dyauḥ pṙṣṭham, antarikṣam udaram, pṛthivī pājasyam, diśaḥ pārśve, avāntaradiśaḥ pārśavaḥ, ṛtavóṅgāni, māsās cārdhamāsāś ca parvāṇi, ahorātrāṇi pratiṣṭhāḥ, nakṣatrāny asthīni, nabho māṁsāni; ῡvadhyaṁ sikatāḥ, sindhavo gudāḥ, yakṛc ca klomānaś ca parvatāḥ, oṣadhayaś ca vanaspatayaś ca lomāni, udyan pῡrvārdhaḥ nimlocañ jaghanārdhaḥ, yad vijṛmbhate tad vidyotate, yad

Happy New Year

As such the celebration is a formality. It has become a culture

What is done in the culture?

1. Text happy new year

2. Call everyone happy new year

3. A few hours before – stay glued to TV

4. Drink champagne through out the evening and pop it at midnight

5. Hug and kiss everyone your around with in a big gathering. More so while hugging opposite gender in some cases

And what did you achieve?

What would aliens think of us?

1. Stupid. Just because the earth is at a randomly selected place around the sun people get intoxicated and celebrate

2. The stupid earthlings are selfish. They don’t recognize the real time around the galaxy solar system rotation

3. Oh they are very short lived! They don’t even last 1/10,000,000 of our galaxy rotation

An astrologer looks at the new year based on Montha – based on the time and month of birth. This is surprisingly accurate

A yogi celebrates a new time with a new birth. An advanced yogi can celebrate a new birth with every breath with a special technique and kevali

A perfected yogi is beyond time or kaali

I worship them. Such a yogi is rare. Hardly one occurs every few thousand years

Happy New year! Anyone make a resolution to wake up?

Are you a con artist?

Almost everyone I have met is a con artist. It is true. Even as you read this you may think your not a con artist but you maybe

We have our own concepts about God. And on top of it we have our own thoughts how we can reach God. Beyond that we imagine that what we are doing way beyond “call of duty” So of course we are guaranteed a position right next to God. In fact some go beyond that and think they are God and the perfect Guru

What a con job! Not once did it cross their mind that your goal is to please God by his standards not your imaginary standards.

So some people on their death bed they will say I accept Jesus as my saviour ( or while alive ) and miraculously they walk around thinking that anything they do – their sins are washed. Hindus go bathe in Ganga and they think their sins are washed.

OK you will say I am much better. I do good things too and follow my path. But to break bread, like yogananda said is very difficult. God wants to know if your really serious about him. Then. He comes out of hiding. The passion for God must be serious. With tears in their eyes. So here is another con job. Oh! God wants me to cry. I will cry and then he will come to me. No. The passion for God must be gut wrenching. Nothing should be interesting. Except God. He tests you by giving you all kinds of pleasures in life. Money. Fame food wine sex and sits back, relaxes and watches you. And people will be busy with life. Instead of crying that their life is a failure. I gave all these riches but don’t have God

I do not exaggerate. People with this passion are rare. Most people will spend less than 1 % of their day for God and expect a lot. Who are you coming? People are only busy with life. Writing blogs is a con job. Sit down. Pray. Go deep in meditation. If you don’t have that much desire for God, read genuine blogs and try to cultivate this passion

Show your sincere about God. Then he will break bread!

Not in imagination. Not in fantasy. (Some people will say they prayvabd talk with God but don’t listen) I am talking about hearing him. Seeing him. All in deep meditation. Great Saints from the past appear. They are the immortal beings. Jesus, Krishna, all appear and bless. Why wait till your dead and have no body. Nothing to offer to God then. Not once or twice. Why not daily? Be earnest for him

Then you will know God heard you You were not a con artist ( fooling yourself )

About my lineage

Greatness should not be hidden. But one should not brag about greatness of wealth either. We don’t hear Bill Gates bragging about his intellectual or wealth “, do we?

The same is more true about spirituality.

There are a few – fortunately very few – who occasionally ask about my lineage and Guru. I will commit the grave error of bragging by saying anything. The best source is to go to Mundarda, Mehsana, Gujarat India.

However there is no longer anyone in a physical form.

Yes there is another blog about my lineage. It is incomplete. And not yet released to the public. It was written mostly for my children and a few others who have been touched by Gurudev

The world is harsh. Everyone feels they are entitled and ready for God and a full awakening. The truth is we are not

There has to be immense love. So much love that just hearing the word God one should have uncontrolled weeping. A sense of remorse – such a great state and I am stuck here like an animal. A sense of desperation. To reach there

Instead people want to brag. Talk about knowledge. Display their ability to recite Veda, Gita, Bible, discuss things. Argue. Debate it.

Oh fool why forego the great joy within for spiritual masturbation?

Interesting but too lazy to verify

Elvis was touched by the peace of Yogananda. This is a blog. Like any blog it does not mean it is true. Including mine. Especially mine.

But from the depths of peace within beautiful music comes out. Like the Vedas

Corollary is those who reach peace find poems easy to create. But all those who create poems have not reached peace

What is your take on the link below?

https://www.google.com/amp/s/yoganandasite.wordpress.com/2017/07/31/elvis-presley-and-sri-daya-mataji/amp/

Interesting but unable to verify

Here is a story that is circulating about reincarnation

You decide

The video is at bottom. The child is 5 year 11 months. Anything is possible

Is it possible to coach a 5 year old to this degree? Yes

Is it possible that this hints at reincarnation!? Yes

Is it possible to retain memories related to skills to this degree? Less likely. In general past memories are more related to impressions on emotions

Simultaneously I have given a yoga technique to recollect past births

You decide!

It is hidden

Most of our faults are hidden. They only come out at right time

Fear. We may think we are not afraid but the moment we see a cop our foot is off the accelerator!

We may feel we have no desire for food. But if your hungry and see your favorite food the appetite comes out like a tiger

same with sex. It takes years and births to get rid of anger, resentment and depression when desires are not fulfilled.

These are normal trends present in all. Slowly and patiently, One must conquer desire – some by fulfilling, others by logic and rest by meditation. Usually a combination is needed.

It is easier to conquer desires with a yogi. They have more control and their guidance and spiritual powers rubs off. Plus they have secret techniques

Death

One of my Guru Bandhu (another disciple of my guru) has been sick for a while

Today I suspect he will leave the mortal frame

He is one of the very disciples that completely believed in Gurudev. For him Gurudev is higher than any God we can imagine.

Such a Guru and disciple are rare.

He is an ideal disciple. He told me once when I was very young – hold on to Gurudev

I owe him for those immortal words

Dangerous world

The world is a dangerous place. In many ways

You come here and get trapped with an ever increasing list of desires. Then face depression from not getting it

In the rush for fulfillment some will resort to criminal activity

Others try to escape by spiritual activity. But in the course of finding a Guru – they invariably start idolizing their Guru and get violent when any negative reference is made to their Guru

They lost the goal. Achieving God

Now mind you the real Gurus – of the caliber of Krishna or higher they should be followed carefully and wisely. All their words have a deeper meaning. The deeper meaning is not revealed to the masses

Krishna gave the Gita. Others were there. They heard it to. But only Arjun benefited. Sanjay and dhritrashtra heard it. Arjun absorbed the real meaning

Desire

So many people. With so many desires. Why do we desire

if you ask some people they will say. Enjoy life. There is only one life. Eat. Enjoy. There is nothing beyond it

Others will say – enjoy but be nice. You want to go to heaven. Now mind you. They have not seen heaven. They go by what they have read. Been told and what their religion told them

Others will feel good when they do good to others. Mother Teresa for example. Yes she believes in God but she did not chase heaven

Lastly there is the elite group of yogi who have discovered peace and joy within. In meditation. They can sit in meditation for days or months and not miss anything in the world

And there are a few who are want to be yogi. They have the difficult task of maintaining a balanced of fulfilling things in the world and meditation

One thing is sure. There are 5 senses.

1. Sight. Fulfillment of this includes desire to travel. Nature. Scenary

2. Hearing. Loving music praises etc

3. Touch – sex massages etc

4. Smell – different fragrances are alluring

5. Taste – eating

The body has been designed in such a way that if you get rid of a few attachment like hearing or music the soul will then dwell on some other sense and get obsessed with it.

Somehow somewhere the soul gets entrapped. Ensnared

The only way out is meditation. Learning of your existence without any of them

Learn the right technique

And then all dilemmas will go away

Don’t constantly pursue desires. Ultimately they will betray you. Don’t neglect desires you will get depressed. Overcome desires slowly by holding onto something fabulous within

Coverings of soul

Basics continued

Most people have a simplistic view of soul and body.

Which is incorrect. The soul has 3 layers. The physical body. Which is what you see in day to day life. However even science acknowledges that we can only see and hear within a limited spectrum of frequencies. Dogs, whales, dolphins can hear a wider range. Sharks can smell a drop of blood 500 yards away and smell it in stereo

Even what we see and take for granted is – are we sure it is accurate? The fly has a thousand lenses and a rabbit sees the world as a long elongated tube! Whose reality is accurate?

So the physical body is the “ outer” most layer. Then comes the subtle body. This is where things start to become tricky. When the connection to the physical body is lessened or cut – the soul starts interacting with the subtle body. This phenomena is seen daily – we call it dream body when we fall asleep. However the dream body assumes a sense of permanence when we die. This is where heaven and hell is experienced. While on the subject – this physical world is considered by some as a form of hell too. Hollywood movies show the subtle body, paintings, show this body leaving the physical body upon death.

This subtle body is not atma or spirit. Nor is it the soul. There are advanced souls who are aware of even a more subtle body which is known as karana body or causal body ( Yogananda) it is the reason why the subtle body and physical body occurs – hence karana or cause. Once many sins and incorrect impression are destroyed by deep medutation – then the power of karana body becomes apparent. In autobioghy of a yogi – Yukteshwar was emaciated and his took him to casual body and when he came out of deep medutation – he woke up with a fully restored body 20 pounds more instantly

Beyond this there are many other layers but for now this will suffice

So fools talk about meditation when they have not even turned within. They go about teaching others too. They can only use analogies of the physical world but cannot give you the visa to go to subtle layers. A soul who has burnt his karma and subtle impressions can slowly go within increments

Yogananda revealed the elements used in making these other bodies. Mastery is needed to go there. Anyone who has Mastery will not reveal it for they then quickly accumulate bad karma and the privilege to go within is lost

As a corollary – it becomes very difficult to find a very great Guru.

True yoga is very beautiful. Captivating. Alluring. Divine. It is the wine of Omar Khayaam poem. Nothing in the world is higher. Learn it but learn the right things. Do whatever it takes to get in this path. It is the bread which Jesus said, behold I stand at the door, and knock: if any man hear my voice, and open the door, I will come in to him, and will sup with him, and he with me.

The knock is a specific meditation technique.

But our own karma, our inner hatred, jealousy, anger, desires, insecurities, competitive spirit, and many more tendencies prevent us from moving forward. This is the real secret why good qualities are needed. In the Bible Job got it. ( See my previous blog on him)

The human body has 11 doors. These doors are zones through which the soul departs. 2 of the doors lead to perfection. 6 lead to the soul making spirtual progress If the soul leaves the body through the other 3 then it goes through hell and does not get a human body for a long time

In Gita, in chapter 6 Lord Krishna explains the circumstances in which the soul finds it easy to advance Paramhansa Yogananda gave a detailed description and yogic interpretation of favorable circumstances

Similarly Vishnuturthji Maharaj gave his explanation on the matter also. Both are correct

The secret of the 11 doors is mentioned in some of the greatest Bhajan or spiritual poems.

This basic knowledge is a must before the reader can embark on making progress. However the modern day Guru, different religious “institutes” make fools out of the ignorant seekers and using jugglery of words and labeling capture the attention of less knowledgeable citizen

Be careful of these swindlers.

Here is an example how people can take a beautiful road of yoga and bastardize the process by giving people a Medical turn and IMPRESSIVE words like research. Sadly more recent studies show that meditation increases ego and failure rates.

The reason is obvious. The meditation was improper. The methods, the fundamentals wrong. However they will give meditation a bad name rather than confess their ignorance of yoga

I maintain yoga is beautiful and gives incredible results ONLY IF DONE PROPERLY AND DONE WITH GUIDANCE FROM A PROPER GURU

A story with a message – part 2

So the story is of our travel to purity. To something divine. To God

Everyone talks about the divine in a different way. We take years on deciding whether Hinduism, or Christianity or Buddhism etc is the right way ( destination )

Finally we converge and find that all religions somehow encourage meditation. And then we spend years learning which is the right technique or way to meditate ( way to get there )

The tour company is a Guru ( true Guru has very few disciples because very few are committed to reaching God There are no shortcuts in internal purity) The wheels of the car are different manifestations of meditation

Maan sarovar is within you.

A story with a message – part 1

A man wanted to go to maan sarovar. It is a very holy place in the Himalayas where Paarvati did intense tapa to marry Lord Shankar.

It is said anyone who bathes there gets their sins destroyed

I can relate more about it later

So a man wanted to go there. He searches on the internet about the place. Then he reads about other holy places which claim an equal fame. Finds places that made claims of something similar or even more. Some told him about the healing waters in France, or the Holy place of mecca or the powerful Guru or baba.

He spent years trying to figure out which destination to go to

Finally he decided to go to Maan Sarovar. Now his dilemma was how should I go there. Once again his friends gave him advice. Some said go to pilgrimage on foot others said fly to Delhi and another said go to Lucknow or Tibet

Years later he figured out the right tour company and made it there. But he was shocked the tour company only had two other passengers He began to doubt it. He doubted the company. How can a company be good if it does not have many customers. After all success is measured number of customers. ( it’s like democracy if everyone says he is a great politician he has to be a great politician – intelligence and careful thought not required. DUMB ) But he stuck through it.

But he stuck to it. The car departed. And he heard the left tire moving. He wanted to get off. After all he heard that successful pilgrimage is when the right tire is moving! He again had doubts.

Someone told him you only hear the left tire because your sitting on the left back side. Otherwise all tires are moving

A sign of progress !

We are incapable of seeing the flaws in our personality

The word personality comes from the Latin word persona which means mask ( Sri Aurobindo)

We all have a personality ( a mask ) The way we behave with friends, spouse, family, front of officials, grocery store is all different.

Some place we have anger, anguish and we display it and other places we show ourself to be wonderful and say God bless.

Eventually, we learn as we grow more stable in meditation that our personality and behavior really was terrible.

ONE OF THE EARLIEST SIGNS OF PROGRESS IS TO REALIZE THAT WE HAVE A MILLION PERSONALITY FLAWS. IT IS TO THE POINT THAT YOU FEEL ASHAMED OF YOURSELF. AT THAT POINT YOU REALIZE EVERYTHING THAT WE SAY OR TALK CAME FROM EGO AND DESIRE

The goal of meditation is to slowly change it to love! Love and caring for others to make progress

And that is the beginning of meditation

A misconception

Many people believe that once they start meditating they can reach perfection in a few days weeks or months

THAT IS NOT POSSIBLE

It takes many births. Vishnuturthji took 7000 years – the story goes

We who have no real desire for God are not going to have overnight success

Every day try to destroy some weakness in you. Slowly conquer desire for fame, food, finance and other things

Many of those things are inherent properties of having a body. It is not easy to vanquish. One you overcome it then you won’t get another body

Then you will know peace

Until then it is not a sustained peace or real peace

A quote from Yogananda

I saw it on Facebook.

When you read this you will imagine a different land where the saints and God / “God’s” live. I call the Guru-precptors God.

Where is that “land”?

SRF DIARY

Lift your eyes and concentrate within. Behold the astral star of divine wisdom and let the wise thoughts in you follow that telescopic star to behold the Christ everywhere. In that land of everlasting Christmas, of festive, omnipresent Christ Consciousness, you will find Jesus, Krishna, the saints of all religions, the great guru-preceptors waiting to give you a divine floral reception of everlasting happiness.

Paramahansa Yogananda—Metaphysical Meditation

When you read this you will imagine a different land where the saints and God / “God’s” live. I call the Guru-precptors God.

Where is that “land”?

I know what you mean

This is the single most cause of all conflicts between religion

In reality conflict between any two religions – for example – Hinduism and Christianity – is not a conflict between Krishna and Jesus but between the followers. More specifically it is a between the Bhagwad Gita and the Bible. Even there to be more precise it is a conflict between the understanding of two individuals

The same quote and a million different meanings.

This is what I mean ” I know what you mean”. Truth is you don’t know what they really meant.

In most of the instances – they are all divinely insprired stories and quotes.

Swami Vivekananda said to understand one line of the Gita takes an hour of meditation. An hour where the mind stops analysis and then out of the blue the real meaning appears.

Many of the things I write here are misunderstood. It is very difficult to grasp the real meaning. It requires total purity of the heart. Purity in the sense – no ego that you understand, truly craving.

Then you are ready to learn how to meditate. And the inner doors which are locked will be opened

This royal knowledge always is locked. It is not opened to the masses. Books or internet can’t give it. Mass lectures cant open Shakti

Then you will slowly prefer meditation over the world. Since the world is in you

Lucky

Who is the luckiest person?

So there is no simple answer to it. We are all lucky in our own way. We have been blessed to have good friends, family, money and in some aspect more than other categories

However the ungrateful mind always looks at things it does not have – wish I had a little more money, or wish my family was more supportive etc

But,but the mind compares with other families

And we read news and we hear about popular movie stars, rich men like Bill Gates and Jeff Bezos, Ambani

Then we wish we had a little more money or things in our life

So where do you put yourself?

Maybe I am arrogant. Maybe I am foolish and stupid. Or a combination of above

I see them all as unfortunate. Inspite of having all, what they don’t have is God! Resting in God and having his blessings is very different. I think of great Saints such as St Francis of Assissi, Paramhansa Yogananda, swami Vivekananda and they are the true lucky ones

I do not even talk of the even higher beings such as Babaji, Mohangiri Maharaj, Neem Karoli Baba, Ramkrishna Paramhansa – they are God or even “higher” than “God”

So in short true fortune is having the blessings of these higher beings, meeting them, being their disciples AND having a true inner desire of wanting only God

If you have a desire to teach others or want money or good looks or fortune or being a leader, or to be popular – even if you have met a higher being it you WASTED your life.

This is very rare. Deep down, no one can desire God to such a degree that they sit in meditation for days together

A puzzling poem

The following poem is for a nirvikalpa yogi

Bound and free Neither are thee

Fearless are fools Be fearless by having fear!

The living are dead And the dead are living

Life an eternal trap Death is eternal life

Bound and free Neither are thee

All sentences are true but this is not zen. The first half of a line is for those who are bound

Insensitivity

In general no matter who you are purple are insensitive

If you look at the picture of the child who died from starvation – we have momentary pain, sorrow and next day we get hungry and eat a lavish meal forgetting it all

Why? Because although we are connected within we have not reached that status. We are selfish. We only think in terms of – does it affect me?

So long as you have that flaw no amount of reading or meditation will be of help. You will remain spiritually stuck. No avatar can save you

Reading this – cry. Those tears will cleanse your inner heart and take you closer to God

For those are true tears of love. Not just love for your self or the body. But the love of God

Aum

Part 2 I talked with God

So the last blog was a representation of how laws of Karma operate. I really did not talk with God

I am pretty sure God was upset with my answers. Especially when I said mankind! Or human! The next thing I knew I was back trapped in a body

The laws of karma very subtle. Without us knowing we quickly accumulated bad karma. Like in the case of the child who passed away from starvation – many accumulated bad karma. The ruler. Those who are involved in the war. But also anyone who hears about such a devastating problem but if they do nothing to help that also creates bad karma.

The body was given for two purposes. One is to discover God. Second to help others. Most people will live and die without doing either

Vivekananda said India suffers because at one time India was affluent but never choose to help others.

He slapped said China will be a leading power in the world soon. It has ended much for many centuries. He said that in 1890’s

Karma is very subtle. The laws cannot be grasped even by the wisest.

A conversation with God

The other day I had a conversation with God.

So I am at the gates of heaven. Like any reasonable job, I had to give an interview. Please don’t judge me by the errors I made.

God – So can you share a little bit about you

Me – I said I am Bhavin. Surely you know all about me

God – Bhavin, I like you and everything but I have no idea who you are. I can look you up in my database. Tell me where you are from?

Me – Dover.

God – And?

Me – Dover A city in Delaware.

God – Bhavin. I don’t think you understand. I have countless universes. In each universe, there are trillions of planets and so many different living souls. I need to pull up the right computer and database

Me – Oh that makes sense. I said, proudly displaying my knowledge. I am from the milky way. One of the outer spirals, in a solar system, third planet from the sun. We call it Earth. There is a content called North America. I am from there

God – Hmmm. What species?

Me – Mankind.

God – oh! I thought I created females too !

Me – I bit my tongue. S**t. Yes God. So sorry. I meant. Human beings.

God – His face finally became firm. Let me share a pic with you!

Source : Time magazine

What do you think of that pic Bhavin. You do know the word human comes from Humane – being kind and considerate. Now tell me what part of human is humane? This is a disgrace. How can human beings allow this to happen?

So how did this happen, Bhavin?

Me – I am not sure. It was about power over an area.

God – Let me see if I got this right. Someone wants power over a country and because of that – people have to be starved, killed , maimed looted and my lush land destroyed ?

I don’t understand. So Bhavin, tell me what have the remaining 6 billion ” human” beings done about it ? I hope you understand why I struggle with calling you human

Me – Well God we have other countries trying to end the war by helping one side. And we have UN United Nations that makes decisions in humanitarian aide. They send out people and money, food and other things

God – I am struggling Bhavin. Does the help reach those who need it?

Me – Sometimes. I am ashamed. There are many situations, where the money and help does not reach them. The money and help is lost, stolen or even sold to others

God – Can you stop calling your self the human race then. Even bacteria live in a colony and harmony without killing themselves.

By now I felt totally ashamed. I wished there was a place I could hide. My mind decided to change strategy. Let me take responsibility away from my self and Blane God

Me – God your so kind and powerful. Why don’t you do something.

God – Bhavin, you still did not leave politics behind. Now all of a Sudden you make your created problems my responsibility. Yes I am kind. Yes I am loving. Yes I am forgiving.

But you take those words to mean God is stupid too. Humans want to live in anyway they choose and then will turn to me and ask for help and forgiveness. Humans say they repent and now that they repent I am to forgive them?

In almost all cases repentance is only understood when the same amount of pain is experienced.

That is the law which can’t be broken. I created this universe and many many more universes.

So with freedom of choice I put in another clause. You will face consequences of all that you do.

You may not see it happening. Based on their pattern I direct souls to other places where they go and endure consequences. But that is just the beginning. After that is over, I have shrouded the future in a mystery.

People fight over me. My name. My appearance. Your failures are not the failures of my creation. They are your own doings.

For now Bhavin, time to return to your own reality.

Rumi

Rumi is a tremendous Yogi. My belief is he is still around. His birthday is around September I belief

His quotes are misunderstood. Most people can only think in terms of logic and the gross physical world and NOT IN TERMS OF YOGA

I found 3 quotes on this page which I interpret differently. I will only give a partial interpretation though

“Words are a pretext. It is the inner bond that draws one person to another, not words.” ~ Rumi

Words are a pretext. In original language it probably meant it’s an illusion. The inner bond I have described below is between father and son or soul and ATMAN. Words are an illusion since we have our own interpretation and can’t understand what the real meaning the speaker wanted. Very subjective. A pretext

Let yourself be silently drawn by the strange pull of what you really love. It will not lead you astray.” ~ Rumi

People love their body and think they are the body. The inner self soul and higher above ATMAN have a very powerful pull to take us within. It is where true love is found. That is what Rumi refers to

What hurts you, blesses you. Darkness is your candle.” ~ Rumi

Refers to the technique of meditation.

Take it or leave it ! Makes no difference

This is the web page I saw it in.
