Fear – an analogy

Link to Original Document

Khalil Gibran wrote a poem

It is said that before entering the sea

a river trembles with fear.

She looks back at the path she has traveled,

from the peaks of the mountains,

the long winding road crossing forests and villages.

And in front of her,

she sees an ocean so vast,

that to enter

there seems nothing more than to disappear forever.

But there is no other way.

The river can not go back.

Nobody can go back.

To go back is impossible in existence.

The river needs to take the risk

of entering the ocean

because only then will fear disappear,

because that’s where the river will know

it’s not about disappearing into the ocean,

but of becoming the ocean.

The river – an inanimate body – has the same journey as the evolution of human consciousness. From rivulets to a river to an ocean it loses its identity as river and becomes a part of ocean. Similar is the journey of a soul. From one body to another, finally the soul says – no more bodies I will merge into God!

Is that death ? Or the death of death – where there is no more bodies that die? It is your perspective. Not an easy choice! Do you want to have another body? Be another river? or say no more body, no more names, no more separate identity, let me be part of the ocean ? Oh what will become of me ?

Do you see the fear? The inability to give up that individual ego? And that my friend is your choice and your choice alone! No longer will you be back! No more land to roam, no more food to eat, no more sensual pleasure, no more wonders of universe to see!

And then soul says, let me enjoy! Do you see why salvation is so difficult?

Merging in God , losing all the diversity and losing the pleasures , the soul trembles and says one more time! Thus a soul can’t escape

But then you can remind yourself of the roaring words of ShankarAcharya – oh the joy of samadhi, the joy of merging and remaining there is a million times more than any joy of any wordly pleasure! Now can you be bold and kick the frame, never to get it again?

Few are!

I home this explains the fear of Samadhi ! But once you experience it – you begin to miss it! Take that plunge? Or not!

At one point you must be fearless! Hence one of the names of God is Abhay ! Fearless

They are aspects of God.

Today is the beginning of Chaitri navratri The following 9 days are crucial for deep meditation and victory

The first day is Gudi padwo In Kashmir they call it Navreh. It is an important day for a Yogi

The goddess is Durga She has 10 hands and rides a lion. Age killed Mahishasur ( water Buffalo) and was born from the blessings of Brahma, Vishnu and Mahesh

The Sanskrita shlokas for her are Devi mahatmaya – a part of Markandeya purana

I like the Himalayan chant – https://youtu.be/EMS4yQsI6mY

The interpretation can be done both as manifestation of the world and also spirituality

For example – she is hunger Ksudha Hungry for food or is the hunger in a yogi to merge into God. There is a deeper meaning which is being the scope of this discussion

One should , if possible, eat less and meditate more

Most people are required to work. They may not Be able meditate due to work. Exertion causes physical and mental fatigue It us impossible to meditate when tired. It is of low quality. It is one of the challenges of modern life.

Like usual my blogs are short and incomplete. This is by intention. It is to motivate the reader to find a Guru. People want the shortcut. There is no shortcut to purity. It requires hard work, painful work, many humiliation in life, rejections in life, giving up desires, deprivation of many many wishes, a one minded goal to escape, a living Guru etc

The path to purity is thorough countless tears. Till you are finally ready to say No more. I see through the many veils and deceptions of maya. A trickster that gives you happiness of random wishes fulfilled and many squashed.

I only seek those who are ready to have their ego destroyed from them through many many trials and deep meditation. Those who only want to help others and not help themselves ( destroying their ego) have a long journey Those who are happy with fake awakening are worshippers of maya and should go elsewhere. Those satisfied with reading books can go to some Vedic school, national library etc

Reading my blog is of minimum help. Pearls are hidden but the mind that thinks in term of material world cannot see it or benefit from It. Yet , the content can be of much benefit ( compared to the millions of other things on the net)

Incredible comforting words by mother

Link to Original Document

Before I close, I shall add a few pages for those who have already made apparently fruitless efforts, for those who have encountered the pitfalls on the way and seen the measure of their weakness, for those who are in danger of losing their self-confidence and courage. These pages, intended to rekindle hope in the hearts of those who suffer, were written by a spiritual worker at a time when ordeals of every kind were sweeping down on him like purifying flames.

You who are weary, downcast and bruised, you who fall, who think perhaps that you are defeated, hear the voice of a friend. He knows your sorrows, he has shared them, he has suffered like you from the ills of the earth; like you he has crossed many deserts under the burden of the day, he has known thirst and hunger, solitude and abandonment, and the cruellest of all wants, the destitution of the heart. Alas! he has known too the hours of doubt, the errors, the faults, the failings, every weakness.

But he tells you: Courage! Hearken to the lesson that the rising sun brings to the earth with its first rays each morning. It is a lesson of hope, a message of solace.

You who weep, who suffer and tremble, who dare not expect an end to your ills, an issue to your pangs, behold: there is no night without dawn and the day is about to break when darkness is thickest; there is no mist that the sun does not dispel, no cloud that it does not gild, no tear that it will not dry one day, no storm that is not followed by its shining triumphant bow; there is no snow that it does not melt, nor winter that it does not change into radiant spring.

And for you too, there is no affliction which does not bring its measure of glory, no distress which cannot be transformed into joy, nor defeat into victory, nor downfall into higher ascension, nor solitude into radiating centre of life, nor discord into harmony—sometimes it is a misunderstanding between two minds that compels two hearts to open to mutual communion; lastly, there is no infinite weakness that cannot be changed into strength. And it is even in supreme weakness that almightiness chooses to reveal itself!

Listen, my little child, you who today feel so broken, so fallen perhaps, who have nothing left, nothing to cover your misery and foster your pride: never before have you been so great! How close to the summits is he who awakens in the depths, for the deeper the abyss, the more the heights reveal themselves!

Do you not know this, that the most sublime forces of the vasts seek to array themselves in the most opaque veils of Matter? Oh, the sublime nuptials of sovereign love with the obscurest plasticities, of the shadow’s yearning with the most royal light!

If ordeal or fault has cast you down, if you have sunk into the nether depths of suffering, do not grieve—for there indeed the divine love and the supreme blessing can reach you! Because you have passed through the crucible of purifying sorrows, the glorious ascents are yours.

You are in the wilderness: then listen to the voices of the silence. The clamour of flattering words and outer applause has gladdened your ears, but the voices of the silence will gladden your soul and awaken within you the echo of the depths, the chant of divine harmonies!

You are walking in the depths of night: then gather the priceless treasures of the night. In bright sunshine, the ways of intelligence are lit, but in the white luminosities of the night lie the hidden paths of perfection, the secret of spiritual riches.

You are being stripped of everything: that is the way towards plenitude. When you have nothing left, everything will be given to you. Because for those who are sincere and true, from the worst always comes the best.

Every grain that is sown in the earth produces a thousand. Every wing-beat of sorrow can be a soaring towards glory.

And when the adversary pursues man relentlessly, everything he does to destroy him only makes him greater.

Hear the story of the worlds, look: the great enemy seems to triumph. He casts the beings of light into the night, and the night is filled with stars. He rages against the cosmic working, he assails the integrity of the empire of the sphere, shatters its harmony, divides and subdivides it, scatters its dust to the four winds of infinity, and lo! the dust is changed into a golden seed, fertilising the infinite and peopling it with worlds which now gravitate around their eternal centre in the larger orbit of space—so that even division creates a richer and deeper unity, and by multiplying the surfaces of the material universe, enlarges the empire that it set out to destroy.

Beautiful indeed was the song of the primordial sphere cradled in the bosom of immensity, but how much more beautiful and triumphant is the symphony of the constellations, the music of the spheres, the immense choir that fills the heavens with an eternal hymn of victory!

Hear again: no state was ever more precarious than that of man when he was separated on earth from his divine origin. Above him stretched the hostile borders of the usurper, and at his horizon’s gates watched jailers armed with flaming swords. Then, since he could climb no more to the source of life, the source arose within him; since he could no more receive the light from above, the light shone forth at the very centre of his being; since he could commune no more with the transcendent love, that love offered itself in a holocaust and chose each terrestrial being, each human self as its dwelling-place and sanctuary.

That is how, in this despised and desolate but fruitful and blessed Matter, each atom contains a divine thought, each being carries within him the Divine Inhabitant. And if no being in all the universe is as frail as man, neither is any as divine as he!

In truth, in truth, in humiliation lies the cradle of glory!

Bhagwad Gita Chapter 7 verse 3

Link to Original Document

Thousands of people try and hardly one will get on the right path. Amongst the thousands of people who are on the right path, hardly one will reach.

I have seen this to be true in many different paths. Why does this happen? A true Guru, shakti awakened and yet they fail to reach? Many of those trying, fail to recognize their own Guru. So sad, so unfortunate.

Vivekananda said it the best. You need three things and you will overcome maya.

  1. A human body
  2. A true Guru
  3. The real desire to escape

And all of them are extremely rare. There are 7 billion people about trillions upon trillions of insects. And if you look at life and its diversity, the human species is overshadowed by the number of different animals and the subspecies.

One of the things that happens is that the Bond between a Guru and the disciple cannot be broken. If the disciple breaks it, that is the worst thing that he can do. The consequences are quite dire.

A disciple knowingly or unknowingly breaks that sacred connection by finding another Guru. In my own lineage, I know a certain disciple who not only found another Guru but also told others to follow another Guru. Once you have a true Guru, there is no need for any God or any other person. In my lineage there were 3 disciples who found the truth in Gurudev and through that found the truth in themselves. Those disciples did not go to any other Guru.

In many ways, if you go to another Guru, you are making a bold statement that your Guru was inadequate. Oh fool, you were inadequate that you could not recognize your great Guru. I personally become sad for them and such people do not deserve respect. They are considered fallen.

The path that I follow is of Sanatana and Shankaracharya advaita. People who believe in collecting money for charity maybe doing a good job, but that is it. IN many cases, the charity money is misused and I have seen that happen many times. God is found within and in meditation. Outward activity might be of slight benefit – only if done to the right person and the person uses the money properly. We generally dont have a full idea if the money was used wisely.

Neverthess, if only you can go within, find God within, then you will see God outside also and then you can do true charity. I know my favorite Dineshuncle, did that. He helped many people, but did it through his divine powers. No one ever knew it. I often confronted him but he would laugh it off. This is the style of a Yogi. Helping many, but no one knows it. Isnt that a more wonderful form of charity? A single thought and you help hundreds or thousands, but no one knows what you did?

That is Advaita and that is being a Yogi. Until you know your divine self, you should do good, and do it wisely. It is good to do it wisely and to the just. In many cases, the Sadhus in India use drugs and alcohol. That would not be called a just use. On the other hand, there are certain charity organizations, which truly do good use of the money and the workers are employed but the workers dont use charity money for drugs and alcohol

I know this is not a well written blog. However, there was a purpose. Be true to your search in finding God. Be genuine. Be sincere. In time you will reap the beneifts. You cannot deceive God, or your inner consciousness. No matter how you try to fake it, you will not be able to go within.

People try to talk with me. I know they lack the sincerity in their search. That has to be amended first. Otherwise, shakti will not permit them to go within. It wont happen. That is what happens to many disciples. It was a self imposed block and a cause of their fall – the great fall by leaving their Guru and unable to go within.

The Gita verse is as follows

manushyanam sahasreshu kashchid yatati siddhaye

yatatam api siddhanam kashchin mam vetti tattvatah

What does it mean?

In short it means, hardly one in thousands will try to reach me and amongst them hardly one in a thousand will know my truth tattvah – ( tattvatah)

Yogananda did not translate tattvatah as truth but translated it as know me as I am….It is worth while reading his translation

Vaato na vada na thay

Link to Original Document

This is in Gujarati. Vaato means talk. Vada is a fried item similar to samosa

Na thay – can’t be made

The statement means you can’t make this delicious food item by merely talking about it

This is not something extraordinary. So obvious. A mute point.

Well not so fast.

Almost everyone I have met fan in the two categories

  1. similar to the previous blog – apathy and oblivious to the goal of life
  2. they merely want you talk about religion, discuss it, read it give a sermon, imagine purity and progress or cop out and say we are humans ! Just think – how can all the talks about God help you one one bit. You have to do someoy to find God. Work hard. Go within. The surface superficial talks can’t Help you one bit

Like I said you can’t many delicious items by talking about it. You have to cook it !

Life without insight / intelligence

Link to Original Document

Every step of the way we are caught in a web. We focus on the web with out any focus on our true goal

At 0-10 we are merely focused on enjoying and playing

11-25 – we begin to realize responsibility. Some sooner than later. We have a competitive spirit either in education, sports, dating etc.

26-40 we are busy in family and career. Some may lose life by getting trapped in drugs, alcohol, women / men etc.

41-60 we finally wonder about life. And try to meddle in religion etc have thoughts about retirement, worry about future, and Begin to worry about health requirements

60-80. The beginning of the fall. Ask those dreams we had often shattered. Some fulfilled. Other’s not. Health problems are a reality. We realize we are not So independent. We need help of others.

So at what point does a person wonder about reality. What is real? What is the soul? Is there a God? The Bible I don’t understand it or same with Upanishad, Gita etc. So when will you wake up? When will you realize you need a Guru? Or wonder about the right method

Such a wasted life. The primary goal to discover God lost.

Sounds / Naada part 2

Link to Original Document

So i looked up about Naada on the internet. Ancient hindu scriptures have information on it. There is reference to the Naada in many of the upanishads. But on wikipedia, they quickly turn from hindu scripture to buddhism and some of their books and references.

I have to say the best description is on God talks with Arjuna – by Yogananda. However, Yogananda was perfected and had experienced it well. Mahayoga vigyan was written by Yogendra Vigyani, another perfected person. His book is a compilation from many other Upanishads and trantras. Yogamrut in Gujarati is another perfect book which has given the most of all.

The reason why I wrote the previous blog was to clarify that if you truly hear the sounds, you should eventually, in short time experience some of the powers that come with it. Otherwise, you saw the smoke and not the fire. Go deeper.

I keep these things in mind, so I could continue my journey and not be side tracked into false beliefs of progress. Many people are surprised when I say, I have not started my progress. One has to remember progress should come with more objective proof.

There in lies the problem with reading stupid web pages. They have misinformation. And once the false concept takes home, you cannot go beyond it. You have wasted and lost a life to foolishness. Please dont do it

If you still cant grasp and are in doubt, go and ask a real Guru. Someone who has walked the path.

Naada is far more complicated and far more wonderful than what even the upanishads have described. Vishnutirthji has talked about it in detail – in Devatma shakti. He has referred to the quotes by Patanjali Yoga darshan and also to Vyas Bhagwans treatise of Yoga darshan

None of this will make sense to most people. But when the time is right, you will ask the correct question

Naad / nada

Link to Original Document

An important step in mediation is hearing different sounds

Hearing these sounds the mind gets attracted to going within. These sounds do not come from outside but from within. As such they are called anahat. Meaning without striking. All musical instruments play sounds with a strike. In the case of the flute etc the percussion is by the breath. These internal sounds are the frequencies of something deep within and are called anahat or nada

The Bible refers to it by Gabriel’s trumpet etc.

These sounds are very pleasing – much more pleasing and soothing than any music outside.

They can be divided into vyakta and avyakta. Vyakta – similar to an instrument on the outside. Avyakta not Similar to an instrument outside. Again vyakta can be divided into 2

As such the types of musical instruments are countless. However mostly they are 10 types. Each has a different order of appearance and each comes with a different siddhi / gift. There is a specific bier by

Yogananda described them as 5. However 10 is more specific

The order given by Yogananda is

  1. Bumble bee – earth element – doubt ridden oh this is something different thoughts. Savitarka samadhi
  2. Harp / vina – water element. Oh I have gone within. What next. This is great kind of feeling. Suvichar samadhi
  3. Flute. – gives inner joy. Fire element Sanandaj samadhi
  4. Gong bell. Long drawn out bell. It destroys the subtlest ego. Asmita samadhi
  5. Thunder / roaring oceans – finally the beginning of Samadhi Asampragnat samadhi
  6. A mixture of the above. A full orchestra!

I will describe the ten next

  1. Sounds like cricket
  2. Finer sounds of cricket
  3. Bell sweating occurs
  4. Conch or shankh – the head shakes
  5. Not written – Amrut / nectar starts dripping
  6. Cymbals – you taste the nectar
  7. Flute – gives
  8. Gives power over language
  9. Not written
  10. Thunder or oceans

This is from hansupanisgad and maya yoga Vidyanagar

Aum can be – spontaneous or with meditation

It can be laghu dirgha and pluta

Dirgha destroys sins

Pluta merged into god

Hope that helps

It is necessary to go through these steps

Please do not think I have any of this. I merely reproduce from books

Good luck

Experience beyond thought

I am smart

I am stupid

Both are thoughts

You foolishly bought

A bird in a cage

No way to escape

I am bound

I am free

Both are thoughts

You foolishly bought

A bird in a cage

No way you escape

Bookish knowledge oh Veda reader

Can’t stop your thoughts

These are thoughts

You foolishly bought

A bird in a cage

No way to escape

Sit in mediation and Focus within

Your mind still runs

No way to stop

Your foolish thoughts

Sad is the plight

The bird in cage

No way to escape

Pull your thoughts

Awareness of self

Rays of light

Abound within

She is divine

Harnessing your prana

Abolishing thoughts

Keeping you within

Tiger she rides

In and out she is all around

A short poem. If only you could stop your thoughts and even stop the thought that thoughts are stopped – then you will know the truth. Reading books , information etc is a tragic burden. Once you have awakening, you have a Guru , then focus on stopping thoughts!

The last two paragraphs – if you look at the first letters – Para Shakti That is the only way out

A Guru greatness lies in awakening of that shakti. She is the only way

Pranidhan. Surrender

Link to Original Document

The only way to go into Samadhi is Pranidhan. Very loosely it translated into surrender or committed to ( God ) or respectful to God or great effort

So surrender to God, has a variety of meaning and depth to it. Most people believe they have surrendered to God. If God put you in hell, would you accept or protest? If God took away your money, would you accept or protest? Do you see my point? We have a superficial concept of surrender.

Aurobindo has written a lot about it He talks about surrender of thinking, prana or vital , surrender of body. He states it takes a very long time to learn surrender

In Hinduism, they talk about surrender with mind, body and wealth to God

But God Patanjali states – samadhi can be reached by pranidhan Pranidhan is the way to Samadhi

So what is Pranidhan? No matter how many books you look up, and read definitions you will be not truly understand what it means. Loosely is can be compared to surrender. But reality is

  • It cannot be translated accurately
  • It cannot be described accurately
  • It is an active process
  • It is a very powerful technique
  • It takes you to Samadhi instantly
  • It cannot be mastered in even a decade
  • It destroys the kleshas
  • It gives joy
  • It Gives peace
  • And much much more

So one should go to ones Guru, remain humble, respectful and wait for the Guru to shower his blessings – then you will learn to unravel the mystery of these words

What more can I say?

Such a strange problem

Link to Original Document

Over so many years, I have observed many many people. I initially would get excited when I met someone who had a slight interest in spirituality or religion. In time, I grew out of it.

Why?

Just not worth it. No matter how many times, how many ways, I show clarity, the human intellect insists on reaching God / joy / everlasting happiness using their emotions or intellect or a very unsound method of yoga and meditation.

Emotions – So many people try to reach God by jumping around, dancing, using cymbals, reciting Gods name…and they call it Bhakti or love for God.

Intellect – Fools want to keep reading books and think they will reach God by understanding him! You cant even understand why you suffer this life and you think you can understand God and the multiple lives you went through and the people around you? So amazing!

Yoga – What a foolish understanding people have. Reciting Aum, or going hummmmm, or imagining an ocean etc,

The truth is

God can never be understood. You will never answer why some people suffer, why some dont. Sure you can use logic etc, but it will not satisfy your inner heart,. After reading books, you may think you know karma but you really dont. Try explaining why innocent people are dying now when the bulk of Karma is by leaders.

but God can be realized, experienced. And in that very second all your questions are answered.

So why do people want to read books and try to grasp him? Why do people read my blogs?

Stop thinking. When you think it is like putting blinders on and you no longer can see the presence of God humming throughout creation

The truth is

You cant love God without experiencing him. I mean have a direct contact with him. And when that happens, you realize how crazy , how stupid, what an idiot you were for all your life and the past lives. Thats when you truly repent. So foolish…all this emotions of being hurt, upset, crying, laughing, loving people in this world, loving your body, were the very reason why you did not see the immense love of God.

The truth is

Meditation is the skill of learning to silence the mind and emotions. Chitt vritti nirodh iti yog. that is the primary aphorism from Patanjali. Yog is the skill of silencing the mind / emotions / thoughts. Thats all. Once you do that, in that very silence…nothing is left except God.

Now I say these things..but dont be deceived into thinking I have any of it. I am merely reproducing things !

So in this strange world, where strange people exist, where they come out with their own peculiar foolish thoughts , after having a very imaginary understanding of the scriptures etc. even if Jesus came, Krishna came and told them they misunderstood, the strange people will not give up their wrong thinking

Simply amazing!

Look at yourself

Link to Original Document

There is a big asymmetry between the way we judge ourselves and the way we judge others.

We judge others by looking at their actions while we judge ourselves by looking inwards

I loved this statement. It is true. We judge harshly. What others do, even the most trivial error is a major crime. While our major errors we tend to downplay

Why? Many reasons

  1. We don’t want the consequences of or wrong action
  2. We are intolerant to others
  3. We know the right behavior and expect it from others
  4. We ignore right behavior in favor of our selfish interests

So this brings us to the current war threat. Well two countries are already at war. Other countries are involved in a financial war with the other countries. And it will only get worse. Maybe this time. Maybe 10 years from now but it will happen. Why?

Before anything happens on the outside, it has to happen within us. In our own mind. World war happens in the the mind of multiple people and hence it is world war !

Let me explain. Before you go buy a car or a blender , you have the thought in your mind and then you buy it. It could be in your mind for weeks, days, years or months. Sometimes it is only for seconds but nevertheless it is there

Well what about world war? Here the thought of killing is not necessarily there but the thought of hatred, anger, resentment, dislike for current situations etc are there in varying degrees. And this evil vibration gathers strength around the world and when it resonates in the same frequency en masse, a war is inevitable

Solution? Everyone, en masse , so their hatred, even when wronged and you are hurting, that forgiveness changes it. Not many people are required but it has significant power

Mind you, we are the same people who expect greatness from others , but we can’t forgive or tolerate things happening in the house. We may forget what our spouse hurt us but the seed of anger lingers on! Sad

The real solution is meditation. Now the true secrets of meditation is written by Patanjali Bhagwan ( God ) However when you read the expositions, you may get mislead. Vivekananda did a good job. However a PhD well give a 101 course, a dumb down certain suited for masses. It cannot be the full revelation. For far, you must experience it

In short meditation. Experience. Change yourself

The evil mind

People have the habit of dealing lightly with thoughts that come. And the atmosphere is full of thoughts of all kinds which do not in fact belong to anybody in particular, which move perpetually from one person to another, very freely, much too freely, because there are very few people who can keep their thoughts under control.

When you take up the Buddhist discipline to learn how to control your thoughts, you make very interesting discoveries. You try to observe your thoughts. Instead of letting them pass freely, sometimes even letting them enter your head and establish themselves in a quite inopportune way, you look at them, observe them and you realise with stupefaction that in the space of a few seconds there passes through the head a series of absolutely improbable thoughts that are altogether harmful.

You believe you are so good, so kind, so well disposed and always full of good feelings. You wish no harm to anybody, you wish only good—all that you tell yourself complacently. But if you look at yourself sincerely as you are thinking, you notice that you have in your head a collection of thoughts which are sometimes frightful and of which you were not at all aware.

For example, your reactions when something has not pleased you: how eager you are to send your friends, relatives, acquaintances, everyone, to the devil! How you wish them all kinds of unpleasant things, without even being aware of it! And how you say, “Ah, that will teach him to be like that!” And when you criticise, you say, “He must be made aware of his faults.” And when someone has not acted according to your ideas, you say, “He will be punished for it!” and so on.

You do not know it because you do not look at yourself in the act of thinking. Sometimes you know it, when it becomes a little too strong. But when the thing simply passes through, you hardly notice it—it comes, it enters, it leaves. Then you find out that if you truly want to be pure and wholly on the side of the Truth, then that requires a vigilance, a sincerity, a self-observation, a self-control which are not common. You begin to realise that it is difficult to be truly sincere.

You flatter yourself that you have nothing but good feelings and good intentions and that whatever you do, you do for the sake of what is good—yes, so long as you are conscious and have control, but the moment you are not very attentive, all kinds of things happen within you of which you are not at all conscious and which are not very pretty.

If you want to clean your house thoroughly, you must be vigilant for a long time, for a very long time and especially not believe that you have reached the goal, like that, at one stroke, because one day you happened to decide that you would be on the right side. That is of course a very essential and important point, but it must be followed by a good many other days when you have to keep a strict guard on yourself so as not to belie your resolution.

The Mother, Questions and Answers 1929 – 1931, CWM volume 3, pages 230-232.

Now this is from Mother – Aurobindo

The Buddhist way of controlling thoughts is rather a painful way. Why? There is no awakening of shakti. With awakening of Shakti, there is something positive which you can hold on to and give up all the negativity of the world and your own thoughts. It is a powerful way – awakening of Shakti that washes away all impurities like a massive flood sweeping away the dirt in a house at one stroke. Moreover it is permanent for subsequent lives also

It is true that our mind has many impurities. We just don’t know it. That’s why people when they start on the path think they can get done in a few months or years. But once you have truly started – you are shocked. Disgusted. Ashamed and then you feel this is a never ending, impossible journey and that samadhi is pure fiction.

Truth is – none of the so called Guru in this world those who are in public limelight have even started on a single chakra. Forget samadhi. Now I could be wrong and quite ignorant and I confess my limitations. However those who have taken the first step , generally don’t talk in public. They are happy to find one or two worthy disciple. You might ask me about Yogananda and Vivekananda but they had a mission. It was more so to increase awareness of Yoga. They may have had a few disciples on the way. Their mission was forced upon them by their Guru.

You know from previous blogs that I am more like Akho. Very negative about Gurus in general

A true Guru is very rare

Anyway this mind is your enemy. Constantly pulling you down and away from God. Divine consciousness. Cleanse it. Make it your friend. Don’t be negative about the future. Know that God has created the universe and us. How can he not take care of us. It is our impurity of mind, erroneous way of thinking that immediately blocks us from receiving God and his blessings. Be confident. Hold on to God. Your Guru. They are always there , ever so willing to help us. But a negative mind thinks – but what if they don’t? What if they don’t because of my karma ? That is a negative mind. An impure mind. A positive mind thinks, i will give up my ego. I will give up my hatred. I will give up my anguish. God has created me. My problem are part of his creation. He will do it. I will not question him

That’s it. Your problems are gone !

Kleshas

Link to Original Document

In chapter one and two of Yoga darshan, God Patanjali explains why we forget our divine selves

This has been explained extremely well by Paramhansa Yogananda in God talks with Arjuna (in the first chapter) when he describes the great warriors Pandavas had to fight.

There are a total of 8 Kleshas. These obstacles prevent us from realizing our divine self. As such you already are God, but these things prevent us from that wonderful experience / existance. The first three described in chapter one are in Chapter 1, verse 24

  1. Karma – actions. Bhurishravas is the enemy warrior representing Karma. It is something that constantly flows. Leaving no trace externally. All your actions, they leave an impression within you and you see the reaction often many births later. But even those are replaced by ongoing flow of actions
  2. Vipak – Impressions. This is represented by Dronacharya. Dronacharya was the teacher for both Kauravas and Pandavas. (Both good and bad impressions). Eventually, he was killed by good impressions (the pandavas)
  3. Ashaya – Desire. This is represented by Ashwatthama

The other 5 kleshas are described in Chapter 2, verse 3

  1. Agyana -Ignorance. Not knowing you are the divine. This is the primal problem. In Shiv shastras it is called anu or particle. Aanvi diksha refers to awakening at this primal area. Some people mistakenly think that aanvi diksha refers to when a disciple is making self effort in mediation. But that is not true. This is anu or ignorance is represented by Kripacharya. He was the teacher for the Pandavas and Kauravas when they were very young. Referring to it being the primal problem
  2. Asmita – Ego. This is the primal ego which appears in agyana. At this point, there is no body what so ever. So it is not something you can grasp or understand. It has to be experienced. You do understand ego in the body, in actions, etc but I am referring to something much much deeper. This is represented by Bhishma. Bhisma means terrible. Something to fear. Yet, in our foolishness we do not pay heed to this warning, since truly this ego is something to be feared.
  3. Raaga – Attachment – This is represented by Karna.
  4. Dvesha – repulsion. Dislikes. This is represented by Vikarna
  5. Abhinivesha – awareness of body. This is represented by Jayadratha

Now all these flaws 1-5 from chapter 2 of Patanjali sutras appear before the body. They are the cause of the body and as such are called mahakaran. Maha – means great and Karan means cause of.

If you want to understand these things, read Holy Science by Yukteshwar.

In reality these 5 things are mis representations of the Aishwarya or wonderful qualities of God. Their opposites within the divine are – Gyan or realization you are God, Karuna or love for everyone, Peace, Joy and knowing with life and Shakti is.

All 8 of these Kleshas have to be overcome to achieve Salvation.

Just think, how will you fight ignorance or ego? When these faults were present even before the creation of the body? Meditation.

Reverse your path. Go back within. Discover the joy within.

Keys to the kingdom

Peter answered, “You are the Messiah, the Son of the living God.”  Jesus replied, “Blessed are you, Simon son of Jonah, for this was not revealed to you by flesh and blood, but by my Father in heaven.  And I tell you that you are Peter,[1]and on this rock I will build my church, and the gates of Hades will not overcome it. I will give you the keys of the kingdom of heaven; whatever you bind on earth will be bound in heaven, and whatever you loose on earth will be loosed in heaven.” Then he ordered his disciples not to tell anyone that he was the Messiah. -[Matthew 16:13-20](https://www.christianity.com/bible/bible.php?q=Matthew 16%3A13-20&ver=niv)

So what are they keys?

I can give you the Yogic interpretation. The rock referred to the body of Simon. And Jesus then called on Peter.

Etymology – at that time Peter means rock

peter | Etymology, origin and meaning of the name peter by etymonline

He said on this rock, Simon / Peter he will build his church. Remember the 7 churches in revelations? They refer to the seven chakras. And Jesus said he will give him the keys. Which means the technique to open the chakras or churches which are the kingdom of Heaven

So why call the body a rock? When you realize the true consciousness- the body is no longer living ! It is like a rock / inert / dead. Saying this Jesus gave him a very high level of awakening of pure consciousness

Now there are few aspects to it. That’s why pleural was used. One of them is awakening of shakti. Then learning the technique to go within and thirdly it requires purity

Now next Jesus says whatever you Bind to earth and Loose to earth – this refers to a technique in meditation where when you go within if you gain control , you can gain control over maya / Satan

That’s it!

How often do you do things that are different than animals?

You might think it is a lot – but on closer examination you will find it is not much

  1. Sleep – animals sleep
  2. Eat – no
  3. Sex or mating – nope
  4. Building homes etc – birds have nests, tigers mark their territory etc
  5. Study – baby animals Learn from their parents etc. humans do higher studying like study history, maths physics. Much higher than animals but they study too
  6. Care for loved ones/ animals do it too. Sometimes better than humans
  7. Earn money – we have to. Can’t survive otherwise. Animals are given food, shelter they just have to hunt it
  8. Compete with each other – animals do that too . Apes may compete for alpha position etc
  9. Pray – we don’t know if they privy not. Do they pray to ?

So if you observe, not much different. The quality as humans, which we pursue is significantly higher. The concept remains the same. So evolution has taken us an a significant path of intellectual achievement.

On face value there is no comparison between humans and animals, yet we marvel animals, and are shocked by their communication skills ( dolphins) etc. Dolphins or pet animals learn it language but we struggle to learn theirs

So what can we do differently to show ourselves as different? In our daily activities?

Bharthruhari – one immortal being wrote about this in vairagya shatakam It is worth reading the translation from Sanskrit

So all our pursuits as humans have been towards external world. Animals do that too. But as humans it is not the external accidents that can show our true potential. It is the ability to discover our pure consciousness!

So humans have the golden opportunity to discover their pure consciousness. Doing that we can put our individual mark of achieving something Rest of the stuff- well a little higher than animals.

The mind – changing it

Link to Original Document

The mind has the habit of reacting. It will always be the case. You talk with someone. You like it. Or you dislike it. Or oh whatever. They are all reactions

And reaction is a karma. And becomes binding. Kind of difficult to escape isn’t it?

So the final steps of progress is – the mind is transformed. It is a purely mechanical process. There is no thought, no need for control, no emotions. It is just transformed. Changed.

How do you change it? Hardly anyone knows it. But my understanding is – consciousness has the habit of getting attached to the mind and body. When consciousness is purified, it no longer attaches to the mind or body. Body consciousness is lost. That’s all. This consciousness – is not the true consciousness but the aspect of consciousness that is illusionary, the part that thinks that is alive but thinks it is ! Complicated. That’s why Jesus said let the dead bury the dead

Now the true consciousness is pure by itself, this is the true consciousness. This true consciousness is the only way to God. Different people call it different names – Christ or Christ consciousness, kutastha, atman, krishna consciousness, son of God etc

That’s it! Your work is over. Or spirituality has started

Gradations of consciousness

Let’s talk about the human body in relation to the Sushumna

Yogi or not, one has to agree that the neurological system is very important for any living being. Without it, there is no good interaction with others, lack of sensory and physical or intellectual interaction would be a disaster

So yogi figured out that the brain plus spinal cord is the chief neurological site. Yes medical science knows it all too well too

Now we will deviate from medicine and talk about Sushumna ( somewhat like the spinal cord) You can read this from Yogananda Maharaj ( paramhansa) also

  • Sushumna : The outer most is called Sushumna. This is chiefly connected to the gross body
  • Vajra and Chitra : this is connected to the subtle body. Vajra helps subtle body move. Chitra the deeper layer drives the subtle body to spirituality
  • Brahmanadi : this is related to Karan deha or causal body

Now there are 7 knots in these and they are called chakra

I will now describe the 7 knots very briefly and how each knot shows different powers of the consciousness

  • Muladhar – power to say no
  • Swadisthan – power to be adamant in saying no
  • Manipur – ability to remain determined in saying no
  • Anahat – power over prana. This is the single most decisive part over victory
  • Vishudha – consciousness now has peace
  • Agna – intuitive powers
  • Sahastrar – wisdom of self and how self created the universe, became the universe. This is where Jesus said my father and I are one. Or know ye not you are all Gods

Now there are a lot of more detailed experiences – not the artistic description of the kamal or lotus which people write about. It is necessary to know those detailed experiences so it gives you confirmation that you are progressing.

Right now, I don’t see one person who has even started at Muladhar! But curiously enough there are lots of blogs and stage comedians ( sorry that was harsh ) who give profound lectures!

Oh well! I do respect everyone though – all are trying in whatever way they know and understand. I try to in my own meager ways !

Good luck

Yama and Niyama

Link to Original Document

My previous blogs have talked about Yama and niyama

This is the first step to yoga and meditation. This sort of discipline is needed to have control over the mind. Gradually , in time if you can do this for 12 years it becomes part of you. The 12 years of constant discipline can be a challenge but is very helpful. Once done, you will find it easier to meditate. Here is what Mother said about this discipline. This is the easier discipline. Later when you truly to go within, there are more challenging disciplines

Mother said

Most of the difficulties that people have are due to a lack of control over their actions, and their reactions to the actions of others.

According to one’s own nature and weaknesses, one must set for oneself a discipline that is invariably to be followed; for example, never to quarrel, never to reply when someone says or does something unpleasant, never to argue when one disagrees. Obviously one should never lose one’s temper when things or people are not the way one would like them to be.

Naturally, if a person is not used to controlling himself, it takes a good deal of effort to acquire the habit. But this is quite indispensable if one wants to make any progress.

The path is long. That is why one must have patience and an unfailing sincerity towards oneself.

In order to be able to live in peace with others, self-control is essential, and it ought to be practiced even by those who do not aspire for transformation.

Blessings.

The Mother, More Answers from the Mother, CWM volume 17, pages 369 – 370.

The more difficult ones are

  • The habit of desiring
  • The habit of going into darkness (99.9999%) live in darkness even those who practice meditation, yoga etc
  • The habit of going in sadness, frustration, why me
  • The thoughts of giving up, I can’t do this, I can’t endure this etc
  • Fear tendencies
  • Doubts etc

When these things crop up, especially in meditation or outside, fight it. Use the Lion technique. Refuse to succumb to the weakness of the mind. When your can remain steadfast, refusing to give into the weakness, suddenly there is a victory in the mind. A sense of relief. Release. A joy of victory. When this becomes stronger, the outside circumstances change and conform to you!

Mahayoga vigyana calls – higher awakening of shakti. In the great saints Yogendra Vigyani words પ્રકૃતિ ઉસકો અનુકૂળ હો જાતી હૈ. Meaning nature conforms to him. Depending on the degree, he may merely think why is there Covid, Covid leaves his surroundings or even the world. Of course such people are rare

Idle imagination of positive thinking is a start but one must go deeper and deeper till at least some lower level of fighting Covid / personal demons etc can be reached.

Pranayam – the greatest gift to Yoga

Link to Original Document

This is a curiosity in a way. If you think you know about pranayam, please stop here. If you think pranayam is for health, Go to Ramdev. He runs a multi million dollar business based on pranayam, yoga and selling ayurved medications. There are millions of people who follow up – please go there. If you think you can read up on pranayam on the net -this is not the web page for you.

Yoga means union. Union with God, Union with pure consciousness. Thats all. Yoga is perhaps the fastest way to reach God, reach pure consciousness. Sorry, delete that. It is the fastest way, not perhaps. Yogananda said the same thing. Babaji gift was bringing the lost technique of Kriya yoga.

There are 8 steps to yoga. Hence known as Ashtang yoga. They are

  1. Yama and niyam
  2. Aasan
  3. Pranayam
  4. Pratyahar
  5. Dharna
  6. Dhayan
  7. Samadhi (two types)

Without the first step of yama and niyam, (physical and mental discipline) one cannot go forward. Without Aasan, it is difficult to do true pranayam initially. When advanced one can do pranayam without aasan

Pranayam – depending on the proficiency manifests as dharna, pratyaha, etc.

So in any yoga text a few things are mentioned

There are multiple types of pranayam

ONE SHOULD NOT DO PRANAYAM UNLESS PROPERLY INSTRUCTED BY A GURU. IT IS FORBIDDEN

The best pranayam is Kriya. It also goes by the name kevali. This secret technique has not been revealed even now. Of course this is just my opinion. And the corollary of this statement one can infer is perhaps I dont know it. This unique pranayam will perhaps never be revealed to the public. All Guru extoll it as the highest. Many people read up about it on the internet. However, I am yet to see anyone like yogananda. All that means is, painful as it is, no one knows how to do it properly. Also, you need a powerful living Guru to do it properly. Gorakhnath said it is the highest. This is the yoga which Patanjali talked about. Like I said, if you know pranayam, just stop reading what I wrote.

This is the tragedy of ignorance. Incomplete or even foolish information is considered as Gospel. People foolishly believe their understanding is accurate and incomparible

I once met a Guru who told me, if done properly, you will start seeing the past and future accurately. Needless to say, I am yet to meet anyone who can do that. And then he added, that is not even the starting point! One has to go much much further.

I say this so the human vanity, ego which makes people believe they know Kevali or true pranayam, those people can stop and reevaluate their thinking and method.

So based on what Gorakhnath said, based on Devatma shakti and what Yogananda said, (he often said, because of spiritual injunctions, he cannot reveal Kriya or kevali), I do believe it is one of the most powerful, fastest way to perfection. Within 12 years perfection can be reached. 12 years is too long and meant for the very dim witted disciple

I have been doing this for 40 years and have still a long way to go. So you can assuredly placed me as lower than the dim witted.

Having said that, I have a very firm belief in the power of doing it properly! I have written about it in great detail elsewhere

Sincerity and life

Link to Original Document

Here is an important statement made by Mother. (( Sri Aurobindo )

it is preferable to have one moment of sincerity rather than a long life of apparent devotion and that a psychological and spiritual victory over oneself is more important than all external victories.

And that’s it!

We really are not any genuine! We want to look wonderful, important and caring. This is for satisfying our desires and ego. However our mind and brain works non stop, just to show, something we are not What is more important is we acknowledge this fault of ours and genuinely seek the help of shakti to overcome it. This inner fault, where all our faults lie, the seeds and proliferate, is called chitta. Mind you, I said chitta not chit. That comes later. But if we don’t destroy it within us, it grows into a tree. Moreover, it is this part of us that constantly responds to maya maya and we dance to maya.

That’s why Patanjali God said , chitta vritti nirodha iti yoga

Which means stopping the chitta from having its waves is Yoga

Chitta has 5 phases

Mudha- totally dull. Unwilling and unable to focus or even have the desire to go within. Unable to comprehend ( Tamas predominates)

Kshipta – restless. Wandering all over. ( rajas)

Vikshipta – partially restless. ( satvic). The mind is still restless , but tries to go within, tries to do good and uses intellectual facility to do good

The next 2 are only with a yogi

Ekagrah- focused. Samadhi.

Nirodh – full samadhi. This only lasts a few seconds or a few minutes. But that is enough to give all day peace

Of course, there are yogi who stay there for much longer

I would suggest the genuinely interested person read Devatma shakti. Chapter 13 , page 116

Good luck.

Tat wale baba

Link to Original Document

He was born around 1890 and took Samadhi in 1974

His teachings in this video are perfect and repetitious

It is in Hindi but some parts of it are translated in English

Tat Wale Baba Himalayan Yogi – the only discourse with English Sub titles

A few comments.

Just my opinion

  1. His age – some say he was born in 1940’s. This was discovered by an Italian producer. Could this be true ? A slight doubt
  2. He left his body – he was shot. 3 years before his death, he pointed out the man Abi would shoot him. He removed his disciple 2 days before this happened
  3. A perfected yogi often dissolves the karma or seeds of hatred in his own antarkirana. Then the act of violence against him not occur. There is a story of Neem Karoli Baba where someone went to attack him but Baba looked at him and the person / attacker fell at baba feet , crying like a child from the love of Baba I do not state this to minimize anything but merely point out there are many high States
  4. the teaching that I heard from Tat wale baba is accurate. I do not know the level of his achievement

Traditional Yoga and the rest

Link to Original Document

We first what I define as yoga and what the rest of the world calls yoga. In pure basic terms, Yoga that I talk about does not refer to the following

All those exercise and postures

I do not refer to the chanting, jumping , playing instruments etc

I do not refer to the pseudo meditation, where people go reciting hum and imagining an ocean etc

I do not refer to the imaginary chakras etc

What I refer to as Yoga, is unbelievable. I do not expect or want anyone to believe in what I say. It is unscientific and has no medical merit. But I believe it to be true. Why and how? Have I lost my sanity?

First, the matter of chakras. You simply wont find it. There are nerve plexuses, but that can hardly be called as looking like lotuses and all the gods and Shaktis described. You can do a CT and you can do an MRI. Trust me there are no chakras. Hopefully that should be enough to clarify what you may want to debate or challange. I am with you all the way in this regard

However, in medical science, there is one thing that there is very little understanding. It is the small matter of consciousness. Medicine is still trying to figure out consciousness. We know awake, sleep, etc but it remains a puzzle. THe mechanism, how to define it, what is life. I remember a case on 20/20 where they talked about a surgery, where they had the breathing shut down, the neurons and EEG made very slow and the heart was also supported artificially, yet the person was still alive, surgery done and the person came back.

The chakras I refer to are part of the consciousness, the knots of consciousness. So that is the part of Yoga I talk about.

So the Yoga, i refer to is looking at the method or kirya of going to your consciousness, travelling the path, the knots of consciousness and and uncovering the wonders of consciousness.

The Yoga I talk about refers to meditation / or silencing our distractions (the mind, the emotions, the thoughts ) first sighting the consciousness, then understanding it and then becoming one with it. That is Yoga.

There is no comparision to Yoga. People come out with their own hallucinatory concepts of Yoga. I have no interest in them. With that in mind, I have given up reading everything related to Yoga on the net. It is all imaginary. Children who draw a picture of a Ghost. How can there be any merit to it.

Another reminder, just because someone is famous, wears a saffron garb or talks eloquently, it is not proof of any achievement. But I do recommend everyone follow them. After many failures, people will seek a true Yogi.

Things such as the Law of attraction etc, have some merit. Even though wikipedia talks about it as pseudo science, they not quite accurate. Law of attraction is poorly understood, since it is a very minor reflection of inner purity. The results of inner purity come so slowly, that the rapidity of results as people so impatiently want , will not be there.

Mindfullness, like people refer to, in my opinion is a joke. Well, I am allowed to have my opinion right?

The definitions and methods of Yoga are very unique. I refer to the strict definitions that were described by Patanjali. Or in Yoga Vasistha. Or in Devatma Shakti. Or Mahayoga vigyan

I am a firm believer in Mukta Shastra.

Enough said.

I wrote this for my kids. Someday, someone may try to challenge their understanding. This clarity what I wrote will be sufficient to remain unwavering

The road is long but continue.

Failures are there, but persevere

It is unbelievable, but that is the cloud of maya. At some point the clouds disperse

The mind is like the uncontrolled wind. The wind can be blocked

Everything that you do – somehow originates in the mind. Since mind is part of maya, all actions are part of maya.

This mind or maya is what keeps us bound. You like food or sex or listening to music

It is not really you but the mind loves it. You identify with the mind and now you say you like it. For whatever reason, once the mind decides it likes something, it is very difficult to unwind of change it. Ask an alcoholic or someone using drugs. Or ask anyone who is trying to lose weight. You suddenly find yourself craving and helpless in your efforts to give up food.

However, the tentacles of the mind is far beyond those basic requirements. It gets offended. It gets sad. It gets depressed. It sulks. When it does not get what is demands and wants. It creates tricks and deceives us even in all the logic we use. The logic we use always goes around to justify our thought, for debate, to justify we are someone and you must be respected. Your feelings are important.

When you read what I write, your mind accepts and your mind rejects. This process of accepting and rejection creates issues. In some ways, if you can accept the logic which I present, you can use it drop the mind. Understand, that the culprit is your mind. And one fine day, you laugh, split from the mind and you are left with your true self and your pure consciousness

VIsnutirthji Maharaj presented it perfectly in Devatma Shakti. First you separate the senses from the body, the subtle body from the physical body, then the mind from the subtle body, then the intellect from the mind and finally the intellect from the pure self or Atman. Then your journey is over.

In time, the inherent powers of the Atman begins to unfold. It does not occur immediately. It takes time. One has to have patience

The miracle is, when you split from the mind, you laugh. All the issues were created were from your own mind. When you can separate from the mind, you can stop it. If you remain identified with mind, you cant stop it. Thats all there is to it

In norse mythology, there is Thor and Loki. Thor wields thunder while Loki is the trickster

For our purposes, Loki the mind tricks us all the way. Thor, is the aspects remains connected to the Divine.

You can be friends with Loki – the cycle continues.

Predict your new year!

Link to Original Document

Yoga is a science based on breath and meditation. One of the things we always wonder about – how will my new year be? Will it be better. The year could be a surprise but why not get a hint?

I can only share a few details. So based on the breath – there are a few yoga generated

  1. Surya
  2. Chandra
  3. Visha
  4. Amrut
  5. Mrutyu
  6. And a combination of above

The smart yogi is ever so mindful of the above and avoid some of the challenges in life. Of course Some can’t be averted unless you mean the art of seeing past karma and burning them

So depending on the beginning of the new year – and the above combination you have an idea of how the test will shape out

Yogananda, Vivekananda etc were mindful of the same. There is much more to yoga than meets the eye

One of the biggest steps in Yoga is opening of Sushumna

The whole purpose of Yoga is opening of all layers of Sushumna. And that opening is assoicated with awakening of the Shakti

I have said this in previous blogs. The world prefers its imaginary Shati awakening, imaginary passage through chakras and imaginary enlightenment

So Sushumna nadi is the central path. One can say it is like the spinal cord, but not exactly. Inside Sushumna is chitra and vajra. And Inside that is the brahmanadi

The brahmanadi is where one can say consciousness is. Yogananda said, brahmanadi is both within and outside the body simutaneously. It is hard to imagine this, so we will leave it as such

So ascenscion requires passing through all these layers and having full experience with each of them. The information is quite scant on the internet. The vision of Aurobindo ( and the reality)

This is what Mother wrote

Of moksa we have no personal need; for the soul is nityamukta and bondage is an illusion. We play at being bound, we are not really bound.

There is nothing evil in this, nothing which we need condemn or from which we need shrink, — it is God’s play. The wise man is he who recognises this truth and knowing his freedom, yet plays out God’s play, waiting for his command to change the methods of the game.

Sri Aurobindo, Essays in Philosophy and Yoga, CWSA volume 13, page 71.

I hope this helps. What Aurobindo and Mother tried was to bring down – “heaven” to earth. Tried to make an environment on earth free of Maya Of course they did not succeed. No matter how strong the presence of God is – it is difficult for an ignorant man to receive it fully

Having said that – there have been some great saints that achieved it in their own area. The atmosphere around Jerusalem- when Christ was there – was dense and almost was like love had condensed and solidified. But yet, they chose to crucify him.

Chaitanya mahaprabhu transformed a few people fully just by being there

Neem Karoli baba did that to a few when they hated him – came to hurt him and one glance they fell at his feet crying in love for him

Mohangiri Maharaj – in his presence and in his house – peace descended fully. So much that no one could even have a single thought in his presence. Automatic Samadhi in his presence

So such things are possible. But not sustained. Eventually maya takes over. Why? Kaliyug. The hearts of people are dark. Unwilling to love God. Insisting on their selfish ways. Greed. Terrible.

The thing is – God gave a choice. Love him or love this World. Or accept him or the world. By habit people want this world. Those who accept God – in time – with perfectly attuning themselves to God become a very powerful presence of God. They are God. But they don’t want to take our free will away. Hence God remains our choice. His will is not imposed unless we have intense love for him

So those who have surrendered to their Guru or God – their attitude – in pain or seemingly bad situations – that don’t lament. Or ask why me. They silently accept. And if evil comes their way – they correct it with love. They are not weak. To overcome evil , correct others is not so easy. First get rid of evil or dark spots in our heart. Then in others.

This state I have described can be called Nirvikalpa samadhi. Or Sahaj samadhi. Their heart is fully transformed into an antenna of love – transforming those around them slowly at a God given perfect pace

Being around them is much faster way to progress rates than a million books put together. They don’t even have to speak.

Revelations

Link to Original Document

Revelations has been difficult to interpret. Everyone comes up with their own interpretation.

Here is the King James version, of the translation into English from Chapter 6

And I saw when the Lamb opened one of the seals, and I heard, as it were the noise of thunder, one of the four beasts saying, Come and see.

2 And I saw, and behold a white horse: and he that sat on him had a bow; and a crown was given unto him: and he went forth conquering, and to conquer.

3 And when he had opened the second seal, I heard the second beast say, Come and see.

4 And there went out another horse that was red: and _power_was given to him that sat thereon to take peace from the earth, and that they should kill one another: and there was given unto him a great sword.

5 And when he had opened the third seal, I heard the third beast say, Come and see. And I beheld, and lo a black horse; and he that sat on him had a pair of balances in his hand.

6 And I heard a voice in the midst of the four beasts say, A measure of wheat for a penny, and three measures of barley for a penny; and see thou hurt not the oil and the wine.

7 And when he had opened the fourth seal, I heard the voice of the fourth beast say, Come and see.

And I looked, and behold a pale horse: and his name that sat on him was Death, and Hell followed with him. And power was given unto them over the fourth part of the earth, to kill with sword, and with hunger, and with death, and with the beasts of the earth.

9 And when he had opened the fifth seal, I saw under the altar the souls of them that were slain for the word of God, and for the testimony which they held:

10 And they cried with a loud voice, saying, How long, O Lord, holy and true, dost thou not judge and avenge our blood on them that dwell on the earth?

11 And white robes were given unto every one of them; and it was said unto them, that they should rest yet for a little season, until their fellowservants also and their brethren, that should be killed as they were, should be fulfilled.

12 And I beheld when he had opened the sixth seal, and, lo, there was a great earthquake; and the sun became black as sackcloth of hair, and the moon became as blood;

13 And the stars of heaven fell unto the earth, even as a fig tree casteth her untimely figs, when she is shaken of a mighty wind.

14 And the heaven departed as a scroll when it is rolled together; and every mountain and island were moved out of their places.

15 And the kings of the earth, and the great men, and the rich men, and the chief captains, and the mighty men, and every bondman, and every free man, hid themselves in the dens and in the rocks of the mountains;

16 And said to the mountains and rocks, Fall on us, and hide us from the face of him that sitteth on the throne, and from the wrath of the Lamb:

17 For the great day of his wrath is come; and who shall be able to stand?

I will not go into the myriad of interpretations that you will find online. A word of caution too. People love catastrophe, cataclysmic events, horror and armageddon. Since, people are fascinated by these things – their mind will gravitate towards those things and believe in them. In general, people love that evil people will be punished and they hope that on judgement day, everyone else they dislike gets punished. So if you have that mentality, then my blog will not be to your liking.

To me, the bible with its small words tells a lot. Many things were written in their own code language. So, a yogi sees things putting those codes into play

The entire sequence, with the 6 seals – refer to the 6 lower chakras starting from Agna chakra and then going down, They are called seals because in your descent from God, once you go down, you cannot go back up without awakening of the Shakti. Hence the word seal

The fig tree leaf has three parts – referring to the three Gunas. In India, it is the bili patra.

All the rich men, chief captains, etc hid in the dens and rocks of the mountains – meaning the soul – after they fall are so immersed in the physical world, they are inert to the greatness of God. Who shall be able to stand? refers to without awakening, they cant stand up, but remain in stupor of Maya / Devil

Even this interpretation – wont be easy to accept – such is the numbing effect of Maya that even the intellect will doubt.

As to the four horsemen – The meaning should be obvious. Time can reveal it, if my blog did not give you the clear answer.

Enough said!

Just a thought about Space-time and gravity

Link to Original Document

So Einstein theory of relativity – simply said, it states that mass bends the space time curvature.

The other part of Space,in later years, there are speeds of planets that move faster and space seems to be expanding. They call it dark matter and dark energy that does all of this. So far science has failed to discover it

Now, if you ask a Yogi – they have a different experience. The solution is very different. Did the chicken come first or the egg?

So Einstein says mass curves space and time

My theory is, there is space-time and dark matter. And the energy of dark matter, creates the mass and also bends the space. And this dark matter, gives the spin and expansion.

Now the hubble constant or the R value is all over. Everyone calculates a different number. and the number seems to be increasing!

I suspect the R value – varies by the areas where there is more mass in a certain galaxy. and Galaxies with less mass will have a slightly lower value. I believe the R value is a representation of the dark matter and energy.

Oh well, time will tell. But I wont be here

Devious menu – from Karma and God

So we all go through tough situations in life. Some of them might be more painful than others. At that time, we will ask, why me? Or ask God for him to give you what you miss in life.

So how do you deal with it?

There are a few fundamental rules to remember

  1. You wont get everything in life
  2. For those who believe in reincarnation, some lives might be miserable and some lives might be very good, rest will be between these 2 extremes
  3. If you pray for something very hard, you will get it
  4. Sometimes if you get one thing, something else might be taken away
  5. Wishes granted by a liberated person, is always fulfilling and nothing is taken away from you. That is the best gift to get
  6. Some wishes are easily granted by going into deep meditation

So, why dont. you make a quick list of things that are dear to you. Here is an example of a good list

  1. A wonderful spouse (i know it does not exist, but lets pretend)
  2. Great children
  3. Plenty of money
  4. Childhood, you have great parents
  5. Good health without problems

Now, lets say you have all of these things, and you suddenly have a problem at work. Or you have friends who constantly betray you. Now you ask God why me…and God comes and asks you, sure, I can take care of your friends issue or job issue, but which one of the things above from 1-5, do you want me to remove from your list, either this life or next life?

Do you get my point? We all come with a certain amount of currency in the form of Good Karma. It can give you a few things, but not everything. Some things, negative things will also be there from your bad karma. Just remember this!.

All I can say is endure. What more can anyone do? If you are really sincere, learn to meditate, learn the secret technique of getting rid of karma. Then, you will be happy.

I hope this gives you a better perspective of life and its mysteries.

Story of Vali and Sugriv

Link to Original Document

Ahalya was the wife of Rishi Gautam. She had a son from Surya or sun God and his name was Sugriv. She had another son from an illicit relation with Indra. That son was Vali. Her husband Rishi Gautam turned her into a stone (cursed her) and told her she will become alive again when God Ram touches the stone with his feet.

The two sons were cursed to become Monkeys. Vali moved to a certain area called Kishkindha and became a King there. He was challenged to a fight from a Demon Mayavi and they went and fought in a cave. Sugriv was outside the cave and he heard cries and then saw blood coming out of cave. He thought his brother was dead and became the king. But Vali was not killed. He was furious and thought his brother betrayed him and banished Sugriv to Rushimukh. Now Vali could not enter Rushimukh due to a curse placed by Rushi Matangya

When Sita was abducted by Ravana, Ram sought the help of Sugriv. Sugriv said he would help if Ram helps him get his Kingdom back. Sugriv and Vali had a battle but both were equally strong and neither could win. Often times it seemed like Vali had the upper hand

Ram said he would intervene. But both brothers looked alike. So Ram told Sugriv to wear a garland of flowers and then fight. Ram sat on a tree and at the end of 3 days, had a clear shot and took an arrow and killed Vali

Hanuman introduced Sugriv and Ram

Now this is a very spiritual story with many secrets revealed.

Blank and calm mind Part 2

Link to Original Document

This is what Mother said about it

It is not an undesirable thing for the mind to fall silent, to be free from thoughts and still — for it is oftenest when the mind falls silent that there is the full descent of a wide peace from above and in that wide tranquillity the realisation of the silent Self above the mind spread out in its vastnesses everywhere. Only, when there is the peace and the mental silence, the vital mind tries to rush in and occupy the place or else the mechanical mind tries to raise up for the same purpose its round of trivial habitual thoughts. What the sadhaka has to do is to be careful to reject and hush these outsiders, so that during the meditation at least the peace and quietude of the mind and vital may be complete. This can be done best if you keep a strong and silent will. That will is the will of the Purusha behind the mind; when the mind is at peace, when it is silent one can become aware of the Purusha, silent also, separate from the action of the nature.

To be calm, steady, fixed in the spirit, dhı ̄ra, sthira, this quietude of the mind, this separation of the inner Purusha from the outer Prakriti is very helpful, almost indispensable. So long as the being is subject to the whirl of thoughts or the turmoil of the vital movements one cannot be thus calm and fixed in the spirit. To detach oneself, to stand back from them, to feel them separate from oneself is indispensable.

For the discovery of the true individuality and building up of it in the nature, two things are necessary, first, to be conscious of one’s psychic being behind the heart and, next, this separation of the Purusha from the Prakriti. For the true individual is behind veiled by the activities of the outer nature.

Sri Aurobindo, Letters on Yoga II, CWSA volume 29, page 160.

To clarify further – there is a vacant mind on the way to spirituality. There is a vacant mind that is tamas

Thus, you need a discerning intellect to know the difference. If there is ego, vanity, then the mind will think the tamas blank mind is progress

But one thing is certain. God is there. If the earnest desire is there. Genuine desire is there then success is due to come. Don’t waver. Don’t give up

God is kind. Loving. Continue. Without fear. Without depression. With enthusiasm. With determination. Success has to come

Does Kriya cause memory loss and a blank mind?

Link to Original Document

No.

The entire process of meditation is quite complex. Aurobindo once had a disciple who complained to him – when I meditate, I feel stupid and my mind is erased. He gave up meditation. Aurobindo told him that this was part of the process, where the mind is first blank, then the mind becomes quiet, later it experiences calmness and then peace. There is a stage beyond peace which is the highest. It is called shanti atit.

However, this state is not associated with memory loss. In fact the memory becomes very sharp and keen. It retains things quickly, it quickly understands, in a flash complex relations of different parts of meditation and even in worldly matters.

The mind is constantly under the influence of the three gunas. They are

  1. Sattvic mind – a mind that is sharp and looking to go within
  2. Rajasic mind – a mind that constantly wants to wander in the world, unable to keep attention, drops one subject and goes to another in a flash, seeks pleasure
  3. Tamasic mind – a mind that is in a state of stupor, lazy, unable and unwilling to go within, and blanks out.

During meditation, the mind has to fight all three gunas. It has to overcome Tamas itself. So, these are the negative sides of meditation, a battle that must be won

True meditation cannot start till all these things are overcome. When they are overcome, then there is sudden joy, irrational joy in the mind. You could be hurting physically and still have intense inner joy. Few can reach that. Mirabai, Kabir, Narsinh Mehta etc all reached that state and stayed there. So did, Rumi, his Guru were in that high state. Omar Khayyam – the rubiyaat of Omar khayaam shows his state of intoxication. Jesus was in that state, hence he could overcome the pain and remain with a smile while crucified. Countless such great saints have come and gone

So in short, it does not happen. What happens is a transient state where the mind exposes its tamas and one must conquer and go within.

Without a Guru these states can linger for a long time, coming back repeatedly. If one practices Kriya without a Guru, then the mind cannot go within, since the door to go within has not been opened and the mind cannot find the inner joy. It may find some random happiness but not the inner joy. Often times the disciple mistakes the random happiness as signs of progress. Siimilarly without a Guru random blank minds also can occur

These are just my thoughts. I am not a Guru, so it is best to find one!

God bless.

A common question – Do I need a living Guru?

Link to Original Document

Good question – Do I need a living Guru?

Yes.

I have seen this question very often. Many people read the books of Raman Maharshi, Ramkrishna, Vivekananda, Vishnutirthji, Yogananda or Yukteshwar – and they feel connected to them and accept them as their Guru. Some people accept Krishna as their Guru. Others follow and say Jesus is my Savior and stop there

I have given the names of perfected individuals. However they no longer have a body and have taken Samadhi.

I can answer this question in 2 steps.

First of all, everything you read and learn is merely information. You read there is a subtle body. And you can imagine you have reached that level by merely reading and you are certain that you are very pure. However, this is illusionary since all you have is information and not experience. Yogananda once had a disciple / to be disciple who said, he has mastery over his subtle body. Yogananda was not impressed and said nothing. The person continued and finally Yogananda said, ok…lets verify it. And Yogananda asked him, tell me what is present in the house next to our house. He gave an imaginary answer that was not correct at all. Yogananda however, described it accurately.

So my question is, do you really know the steps that have to be done, to get mastery over the subtle body? Even if a book describes it, you wont be able to implement it. The necessary power to do it, has to come from a living Guru. A guru who now longer has a physical body cannot help.

There are many many levels of Shakti awakening that is needed. It is probably infinite. This has to come from a living Guru. There are realms that have nothing to do with this physical universe. These are subtle energy fields that have nothing to do with books or this physical world.

Secondly, if the Gurus from the past, who have taken Samadhi were able to help, why would people keep looking for a Guru? They cant help. (It is more complex than you understand). Why cant Lahiri Mahasay or Yukteshwar Maharaj just come over? Or why can Ashtavakra come and help? Why not accept him as a Guru? Subconsciously we know that they cant help and hence we dont even think of them as a Guru. How about Rumi? He was enlightened. They have great quotes and wisdom, yet we cant and wont even think of Rumi as our Guru. This subtle truth is already ingrained in our mind.

However, truth is, they are immortal

Complex isnt it

Short answer is Yes, you need a living Guru.

Desperate people and religions

I have committed a great mistake in life. I dont know if it was destiny or whether it was accidental or pure foolishness on my part. Without creating much delay, and causing anxiety to those who are curious to know about my mistake, I should reveal it. However, before I say anything, I was hoping that you do not judge me too harshly. What I did, is absolutely horrible. No sane person does it. The only redeeming thing, I have is that I live in one of the arms of Orion Cygnus arm of the milky way – where there is a blue rock in a system of 8 planets and is called the earth.

So finally, my mistake. I could be a total jerk and continue to avoid the question, but those who know me, know I am not a total jerk. Absolutely not. May a total jerk plus, or total jerk plus plus -well you get the picture!

So my mistake. I am sure on this planet of 7 billion people there are about 8 billion people committing the same mistake. It is called – social media

I belong to a few whats app groups. My mistake is that some people added me to their channel and like a pathetic member of the bipedal species, I did not have the nerve to leave the group. As a result I see a lot of stupidity and ignorance and lies and hypocricy on there. Now, those were the good things that I see there. I dont have time to go in things that I think that are worse. Remember upto now, all I wrote was in good humor.

Earlier today, I read about a story of a lawsuit against the ISKCON in Poland. ISKCON is a Hare Krishna movement that has at times spread like wild fire. So on whats app, they talk about how they won something in Poland and brag about it. What is my problem with it? The whole story was bunk. A total fabrication. People forward those messages and keep forwarding.

This is what is appalling. I could be wrong, but I suspect that this story was spread by ISKCON. Or one of its members. How desperate are they. Or the members trying to spread total lies – applauding themselves on how they won a make belief legal case. Should I feel sad for them and sad for those who spread such lies? Should they not spread a disclaimer – and do it pronto- that the story about ISKON in Poland is a fabrication.

However, this is not only true for this instance. I find so many stories on Whatsapp that are total lies. Even in a medical classmate group, there are many stories about how – a microbiologist reassures everyone that Omicron is nothing to worry, etc. For Gods, sake, dear classmates, wakeup. Do you really have the MD behind your name? Stick to medical facts. Dont put up stupid things like – this cardiologist has given you an A to K ways to improve your life. Go read a journal and dont be foolish

Enough said. My message to you – use discriminatory wisdom. See if it makes sense. This world is full of deceitful people. People who for no reason are desperate to promote their religion. God, if he or she exists, does not care for your promotions. He would rather see you genuinely interested in him. Nothing more. Nothing less.

The problem with information

Link to Original Document

Let us say you love reading. And in this case, you love reading spiritual things. Or self help books. You read a lot of them. You hear and read about purity.

These things are informational pieces. This creates problems in many ways. They are helpful, but you must be careful with the information.

  1. Always remember this is information. Lets say you read that Jesus was very kind and loving. Ok…great. Now if you are spiritually inclined, with this information, and if you like kindess, it should create love and respect for him. Maybe even shed tears. But when it is your turn to be kind and loving to your enemy – can you? Answer is probably not. So it became an information piece rather than step to God
  2. Some people when they read these things, imagine that they are kind and loving. Or without anger. But this is only true in imagination. When it comes to being tested, they quickly fail. Or they pretend. When there are situations that evoke anger, they outwardly dont get angry but inside they are teeming and unable to sleep for weeks.
  3. The most dangerous thing is – it creates ego. Lets say, that you read about Karma. Next time you see someone suffering, your mind races, and you are ever so eager to give advise to someone. Based on what? Knowing the theory and you think you it? Do you really know what the person did and why suffers? When you know that, then we can talk about theory of karma. This ego, is always active in giving advise when it knows nothing, endures nothing and is always so selfish

So collecting information has some value but true progress is when you go within, learn to give up all these nasty traits of the mind. It is not so easy

Emotional pain in life

Link to Original Document

This particular blog is written for those who truly want to escape. Rest of the people will not agree with me. That would be kind if you simply just dont agree, but there will some who will mock me, jest me and most certainly think I am beyond crazy

So, if you want Moksha. Liberation. The thing that will deliver you there is emotional pain. Everyone will endure emotional pain in their life. Some more than others. However, it is only during emotional pain you come face to face with all your faults. In contrast when you have money and power, the mind becomes more arrogant, intolerant, has an undue sense of self importance and worst of all, gets addicted to the false concept of happiness in this world. This is the worst thing that happens

Repeatedly, I have had emotional pain. It hurts. Smarts. May go on for a while. But with minimal introspection, you will find a lot of errors in your mind. These errors, if not checked, will drag you down completely. No matter how much gain you had spiritually. This mind is a tricky …(use your word of choice). It is very difficult to conquer, appease or pacify.

In time I realized that the only true ally I have is pain in life. Rest well wishers and those who praise me, are my enemies, and unknowingly they try to instigate ego and the false attachment to perceived pleasure in praise. Truth is there is no pleasure in praise. Instead, go within and experience the waves of love of God within you.

I am not saying anything new. This has been said by countless saints. Saint Francis said it the best. (You can search my blog or the internet). There are stories where Yogis have been sad that the person you criticized him the most, when they died.

Anyway, knowing these stories in itself is a problem. Seriously, it is true. For a yogi, even knowing these stories are a problem. Why? When you read the stories, your mind gets a concept of what greatness is, but you dont have a taste of that reality. And with the ego in you, you assume you have it or you achieve a concept but not reality. With this you become stagnant, trapped in the traps of the mind and Maya. Oh, so tricky. Dont achieve the understanding of the situation, achieve the situation.

How will you know you have reached it? There will pangs of love rising in you from within, even while the mind aches and hurts. Then the crazy mind gives up the aches and pain and surrenders to the love rising from within! Now, you have a taste of beginning of Yoga!

Sweet ! A sweet victory over emotional pain!

Bible – confess our sins

Link to Original Document

A yoga interpretation

First the quote

I Ioannis 1:9

Si confiteamur peccata nostra: fidelis est, et justus, ut remittat nobis peccata nostra, et emundet nos ab omni iniquitate.

The reference – [https://www.biblegateway.com/quicksearch/?quicksearch=Faithful and just&version=VULGATE](https://www.biblegateway.com/quicksearch/?quicksearch=Faithful and just&version=VULGATE)

The KJV meaning

uIf we confess our sins, he is vfaithful and just to forgive us our sins and rto cleanse us from all unrighteousness.

The literal translation from Latin. A few key words

Confiteamur – I acknowledge

Peccata nostra – our problem

Remittat abandons

Emundet cleanse

Iniquitate – not spiritual

So if you look at the original meaning from the Latin It could be translated as

if we acknowledge our problem

To whom?

He is faithful and just

Then

You will abandon your problem and be cleaned of all our lack of spirituality

So that is the literal translation

So many people go to confession. But when they last- did they leave all their unrighteousness? Did they become saints? If course not. People don’t change their habits

So my interpretation is as follows

We have a problem. Our problem is we love this world more than God. So the Bible says go to he who is faithful abs just. Who is that ?

That is the Holy Ghost – faithful, present since time Immemorial. Has never left God and is always just –

This Holy Ghost , Yogananda said is the sound Aum. It is heard in meditation. And when you go to him – hear it in meditation, then your problem of loving the world more than loving God goes away, and once you hear the Holy Ghost , the mind begins to give up its unrighteousness and increasingly turns to the love Of God

I could be wrong. But for me the love of God Is important. And I firmly believe that the love for the world – the satanic part of the world – With all the greed, vanity, lust for sex, money – is unrighteousness. That should be replaced with love for the Holy Ghost and God

Abrahim, Isaac and sacrifice

Link to Original Document

This is a story from Genesis 22. Abrahim had 2 sons, the elder son was Ishmael and the younger was Isaac. The story – in short was as follows

God told Abrahim to take his only son, Isaac to Moriah and wanted him to sacrifice him as a burnt offering. And more than once God said, your only son

Now, Abrahim had another son Ishmael – so the only son Isaac would seem like an error on Gods part. Or more likely an error in our understanding. You pick!

I have given the story in short. There is more to it. Now many scholars have discussed it. Some say it is a matter of faith. Others have other arguments. I am a Yogi. I always take it in terms of Yoga.

Without going into many deep secrets, only known to an enlightened person, Abrahim is a figure revered by all 3 faiths – Judaism, Christianity and Islam. The name Abrahim, is in itself a clue.

So lets go through the Yoga interpretation.

Abrahim refers to the soul. God repeatedly calls Isaac his only son. and that refers to the body. The soul has only one physical body. The word Isaac means giving happiness. Of course, the pleasures of the body give happiness.

God told him to sacrifice Isaac, the body pleasures. And told him to go the Moriah – a mound. In the body, if you look at the eyes, it lies in a valley or socket and the forehead is like a mound. Go there, Abrahim, and offer the body as a burn offering – meaning seek God within so deeply, so intently that you forget your body and all its awkwardness completely.

More over in the bible, Jesus says, let the dead bury the dead. Meaning those who are spiritually dead, unaware of the soul or God, their body is like ashes.

And God was pleased, that Abrahim gave more importance to God than to Isaac!

Can we pay more attention to God than the body pleasures?

Problems in life and the spiritual eye

Link to Original Document

We all have problems in life. Our life could be on a smooth sail and then out of the blue something unexpected happens. We could be best friends with someone and madly in love with spouse.

And then something happens and it starts to break. We normally blame the other person, right? What happened?

Well, based on our past karma and the way we shaped our mind, we slowly begin to brew resentment within us. For absolutely no reason. This can happen at work too. We start off a new job with high expectations and then we just drift apart. This brewing of resentment and also related to past karma, the dream castle which we created in the relation, or work just crumbles. Once that happens, it is difficult to rebuild it.

So if we want to be happy, we should stop building up resentment and anger and frustration. Dont be angry. People behave based on their past tendencies. They cant help it. Forgive them. Move on. Moreover, if you owe someone from the past, you will have to repay and the person may behave poorly with ill will towards you as part of karmic debt. Dont build up new karma with anger or hatred and try, try not to wish the other person bad. It is difficult. This is why, we Santana religion or hinduism talks about endurance. But this endurance was not understood well and people thought it was ok to be a door mat. No, no, that is not endurance that is stupidity.

Someone may hurt you, you should not hold ill will or anger or resentment, but you must do the right thing – protect your assets, be polite but firm, seek legal counsel if needed, whatever is needed as part of proper action.

So that was one thing. Now often times, things can become unbearable. This is true even if you have a Guru. What do you do? Well, talk with those on the spiritual path. But during those times, we seek to know when or will this ever end? In hinduism, there are 4 vedas – Sama, Rig, Yajir and Atharva vedas. A part of one of the Vedas is Astrology or Jyotish Vidya. This science slowly evolved over times. So use it. Enact your horoscope. Look up your horoscope. There are some very good softwares that can give you good general advice – like Goravani. (Goravani.com). Now knowing the software can give you a general idea of what one may anticipate.

But there are other things you can use to help you during difficult times. There are Mantras that can be effective. But the mantras have to be used properly. One must only eat fruits and milk and nuts. Not eat outside the home during Mantra. The mantras must be chanted, sitting in one specific area and the specified mantras must be finished in a certain time frame.

For Panoti – the famous or infamous Shani – Hanuman chalisa is helpful. Perhaps if you have a Guru he may give you a specific mantra to overcome issues. These are just general things. Some people use special gem stones. They may work only if properly charged with Mantras

Remember doing these things wont just solve the problem, you have to work on it and the mantra can aid you in the process.

Finally, there is God. Some people believe in a specific form of God. Some believe in something else. We all migrate towards what captured our attention – this does not mean what captured our attention is the final answer though. However, Astrology or Jyotish comes from the word Jyoti which means light. Not the light of the sun or the light bulb, but the light of God. This would be the best way to deal with it!. If only, we could see that inner light of God and learn to surrender to it, it would be the most effective and efficient way of dealing with problems. This does not mean problems wont arise but it gives us a way to move forward

So how is this done?

Yogananda has described the spiritual eye. It is a yellow or red color ring, with a blue light and a white star in the center.

The yellow light, as per Yogananda refers to the cosmic vibration.

The blue light is Kutastha or Krishna or Christ consciousness as he calls it

The white star is the cosmic consciousness with the 5 eminations.

I have described this in greater detail elsewhere.

Back to the problems – So when one is established in Kutastha – like Lahiri Mahasay described – then in time we learn to get rid of the problems. That was what he repeatedly described. All the translations and interpretations from the Upanishads, he described them as part of Kutastha !

Hope this gives you a brief way to move forward

This spiritual eye is difficult to see and even more challenging to have a constant vision of the same. I have drawn it elsewhere. If I get time, I will draw it again…:)

My best wishes and love to all those who struggle and are eager on the path. The stubborn mind and its habit of worrying, resenting, being anxious is difficult to overcome and hence we cannot remain in Kutastha the blue light of the spiritual eye.

Moksha or liberation

This is the problem. People read a little. Or a lot. From the internet. From blogs. From scriptures. From vedas. From religious books.

But the concept of needing inner purity is not there. Or if it is there, they think they already have it. But this delusion doe not end there. Often times there are misconceptions. Oh, we are human. God will forgive us. We dont need to make efforts to be pure. He will forgive us. Or she will forgive us.

Then comes along yoga. and Kundalini awakening. Many try on their own. Others find a Guru. Not a real Guru. Just a self proclaimed Guru. Of course a self proclaimed Guru will not insist on purity, He will give you convenient answers. He will say it is ok to do what you like, just chant or do the mantra. Or practice pranayama or sit in meditation. Your work is done. You will be free

Thus there is a web of deception.

This of course is not Yoga. Neither is it the way to Liberation or Moksha. Or the way to God.

I know most people find my concepts too much. It is not easy. Let us agree on one thing. A mind at peace is always wonderful. We may not have control over outside situations, but we can have control over the mind. Well, not really. Any attempt to control the mind creates more anger and agitation. The mind revolts. Gets angry, bitter and refuses to cooperate. Drifts to sleep or stupor and prefers alcohol or drugs

So the mind has to be changed, not controlled. This is point one

Point two. The mind will always be restless when it seeks happiness on the outside. The place where the mind runs outside the most is in sensual pleasures. Seeing things, talking and hearing things. Food, Sex. Once stricken by one or many, the mind will never know peace. It will constantly think of it, crave it, and when it does not get it, becomes bewildered, sad, anxious and just unhappy. It will be like rabid dog, going from one point to another, searching for something and biting without cause.

Point three. The only way to get peace of the mind is by getting rid of desire and that requires a fundamental change in the mind. I mean change, not suppression. How is this to be done?

Yoga. I am sure you guessed it. So scriptrures just mention that state of Atman or self – the state that is self sufficient. No longer seeking, the mind abated. It does not tell how to get there. Nor does it say what happens on the way. Lahiri Mahasaya talks about the Kutastha. This is a level, a beginning of sort. It describes the wonders of Kutastha. He describes the effects and mutiple reference to Kutastha in all books including the bible, Hindu religions, Upanishads etc.

However, there is only one book – about 600 plus pages long that describes Kutastha and what happens on the way there and the steps in transformation of the mind. It is the only book that talks about it in minute detail. Sadly that book is not available. Who knows where anyone can find Muktashastra, however, it was my desire to translate it. Such incredible books are always kept out of reach for most people. That I suspect is by design. I have tried in vain to get the book. What can I say or do?

Some day, I hope to be sufficiently pure, to be worthy of one page of that book !

Kundalini

A question – do fakes pay tribute to the truth by imitation or do they give bad name to the truth by their lies?

I suspect it is both.

Recently, the leader of Ra Ma institute Yogi Jagat, died , possibly PE ( pulmonary embolism). However rumors abound – she is still alive, she tried to escape from a gathering etc

She claimed to await kundalini.

So now an average reader, when they read about another Yoga fraud – will being here we go ! Yoga is fraud. In the limited investigation they perform they are quick on the draw to tarnish the reputation of Yoga but not blame the money and power hungry leaders or fake Gurus. And definitely not blame themselves for being a full and believing that kundalini Is easy and common

Right now, I doubt if there are 10 people with awakening – even minor. Those who have it have not advertised. One of them may have followers rest may have a few believers but not followers.

It is miraculous but the journey is definitely long. What can I say? There is a reason why it is not advertised. Having many followers is a certain sign that there is not much there.

You may argue Vivekananda, Ramana Maharishi, Yogananda had many followers. But few of the followers had awakening.

We have the tendency of get worshiping. We think if the person wears certain clothes, speaks Sanskrit, smiles in a certain way, he is a guru.

But a true Guru is now restricted by garments or language

His ability lies in deciphering the codes of the scriptures!! And helping others without even taking credit.

All birds that fly are not swans

There are far more crows than swans.

Swans fly solo. Crows May have groups. Hope you get the picture!
